As I have posted above (#7) I still wonder why Hair wasn't questioned first and before AllenC's ban. Could that be called favoritism?

Note I am not saying mods behave in such a manner, but I hardly understand why (when banning already took place) there was only one ban (for insulting).

(Reminds me of the joke: "he started the fight when he punched me back")
 
Trying to even understand the favoritisim thing in this instance when I do not know either party.

1. Hair reported the post saying he was out of line.

2. Allen did not report the post.

3. I read the thread in question and to me there is a difference between insulting a post or an opinion and directly insulting a person.
Feel free to insult my opinion on this, but you cross the line when you insult me as a person.

Show me the favoritism please since you made the accusation.

Especially since I agree with Allen a lot more than I agree with Hair.

Like it or not there are humans who mod here and I am one human who actually makes mistakes. This job takes up a lot of time think you can do better? Step on up (we need all the help we can get).

The bottom line. Allen did not report the post, he just fired back on a higher level.

Hair reported the post, admitted he was wrong and pointed out the fact that Allen to it to a higher level. Those are undisputable facts that guided the decision.

Want to beat this dead horse some more you are welcome to do so. Right or wrong I have stated the case and my decision and why it was made.

If you don't like it, I'll try to do better next time.
 
I am not angry that I was banned....as I stated earlier, I deserved it.
But I do believe that not also banning Hair was wrong, plain and simple.

It is obvious that he was insulting me, and he continued to do so even after I had asked him to stop.
My opinion is just that...an opinion.
To call me ignorant because you disagree with my opinion is an insult and a personal attack.
Just because Hair was the one to run and whine to the moderators does not make his insults towards me justified or tolerable.
The only fair solution would have been to ban both of us for insulting the other.
Whether the mods intended it or not, the situation came across as a case of favortism in my eyes.
And judging from some of the subsequence posts, I was not the only one who saw it that way.

I understand that the mods are only human, and that they have a tough job to do, and I want to make it clear that I harbor no animosity or resentment toward any of them.

And those are my final words on the subject of my banishment and that specific thread.

I don't think it should matter WHO reported what but what was the whole point.
I would be very disappointed seeing people here behave like what we could see in that unfortunate thread. It is shame how deep both Hair and AllenC sank.

I think I made myself clear in my last post about my view of the start of the dispute.
My attitude to such situations is to tackle things between litigants. (Especially when it is me who starts such a debate :eek:) When both parties run out of arguments it is time to quit. However reporting "insults" said in harangue is nothing else than childish whining to me. Just my opinion. Maybe ignorant too :)

What a minute! There is a place where I can get ready made insults? Not only did I not know about it, but I was totally ignorant about that fact!

On some 177 languages, some are not very good ones, infact downright lousy. But yes that's where mr Roth found his like.

Not that it matters but here's my OPINION: Hair should have been banned too. It reminds me of people who go looking for a fight and actually get into one and then they call the cops to protect them. For something they started. Doesn't seem quite fair does it?

As nobody says anything, I guess I'll have to deduce that what E. Roth's wordings on the political forums were normal and appropriate.

Good to know for the future.
