Hmm...future gear buys...
The Warbonnet Blackbird hammocks are really cool but my DIY works just fine, great actually. Besides, the wife and I can't both fit in one. We have plans for a little backpacking trip in the hopefully near future.
So a two man tent that is light enough to be packed would be swell. I've got a big tent and a solo tent. As for the big tent though, I have no intention of taking it where I can't drive my truck!
A few sleeping bags would be in order as well. And a water purifier.
I'm on a pretty tight budget so whatever is the most bang for your buck is how I usually buy. I'm big on the buy once thing too though(go figure hearing that on this forum, lol).
