Am I the only one who disliked micarta?

As others have stated, canvas micarta for a fixed blade knife when you may find yourself in wet conditions. Paper micarta looks sleek on a folder or a slipjoint.
Whereas G10 may be impervious to an atom bomb, so is micarta. I've soaked the coatings off Busse and Swamp Rat knives and NEVER taped off or bagged the micarta slabs. They dry looking brand new.
Moral to my story? Micarta is way gripper than G10. Sexier too.

Some Micarta, like paper Micarta, is pretty similar to G10 feel. I like the hard canvas feel/grip of canvas Micarta because I like more neutral shaped handles and the added grip is welcome. I also like wood, and like honest wear on good leather. I wouldn't choose canvas Micarta if I wanted the knife to maintain it's factory fresh appearance on a user knife.

I will say that I prefer finer checkering/texturing than larger texturing on my G10 or Grivory handles.

I don't like Micarta, and I am not a big fan of G10 either.
Micarta inlays on a Seb is something beyond me.

I opened up the thread to start a discussion, see people's opinions on it. When someone says if I actually USE a knife I'd understand, then that gets under my skin. It was all discussion until that one person made that comment. Everyone has their own personal tastes and interests, that's the point.
Haha, sorry, I guess I’ve had that guy on ignore for a while now. Made it look like you were sperging out over nothing. I’ll retract my snark. Continue on your way good sir, nothing to see here.
Clear misunderstanding as I didn't see who the OP was responding to as well! I've had that member on ignore for a while. I think the reasons are obvious.

On topic, I love micarta, particularly canvas. It feels like it warms up quicker and reacts to moisture by improving grip better than G10. G10 is my second favorite BTW. Then CF, FRN, Ti, and wood/other natural materials last.

Well I love Micarta I wish they would put it on more folders they just don't make that many. Like many have said it warms to the touch, gets grippier when wet (when you you need it to be more grippy) and, it just looks cool, I love how it takes on character with use. I like G-10 but typically just on the show side I don't like how it tears up your pockets if it is on the clip side. I think it feels a LITTLE better than plastic or FRN but not much. If you want some grippy G-10 just buy an Emerson but, be prepare for your pockets to get torn to shread's if you pull it out a lot. Funny side note I just benefited from the OP's dislike of Micarta I just bought his 2017 Bladefourms edition TC 15 and I love it! Thanks br4dz!

I happen to prefer Micarta over G10 most of the time. However, it depends on the type of Micarta. Paper and linen Micartas look simply great on dressier knives. Canvas Micarta is my preffered fixed blade handle material.

When they dug up King Tut's tomb, they found a Busse knife with completely intact canvas Micarta slabs. Honest.
Hey....I can't make this crap up. :)
