XXL XXL I've had my eye on the small Kraken (satin blade) for a while now. I was on the verge of buying one til I overspent elsewhere, despite the fact that it's the same knife (it would, in that respect, make more sense to buy a large)

I almost bought the small Kraken too, until I found a full size that was in stock.

If I can afford it at some point, I'd really like to get the small Kraken as well and have a complete set.

I hate to say it out loud… but the LG’s don’t do anything for me…

I just want to say, amidst all the laughs and jokes, I’m always stoked for others and their collections and new purchases…even if they aren’t my preference.

I don’t have enough of em yet to send ya one! 😂

But I will say there’s a lot of other knives that aesthetically appeal to me more than LGs. It’s not the look that I love but rather that every aspect of em just works so dam well. Getting one in your hand will change ya mind rather quickly. But no worries, I’ll wear ya down eventually. 😉
 
I’m a sucker for a Harsey design. I have a couple of Fantoni Harsey’s, a Spartan Talos and a SHF 3.25. I keep going back to Harsey designs and getting the same middlin outcome: I like the knives but just don’t love them.

They all have limited access to the thumb studs and frame/liner lock, almost as if it’s an inherent design shortcoming. They just aren’t comfortable and intuitive to use for my hands.

I struggle in particular with my SHF 3.25 because the knife feels “unfinished “. There are Lots of surfaces that scream for some chamfering and smoothing. That would be fine in a knife half the price but seems incomplete at this price point.

I’m also not in love with that stamped penis clip.

So, OP, I guess I agree with you that I like it a lot but can’t say I love it. It doesn’t kick my small Sebenzas out of my pocket (or many other knives in my EDC rotation for that matter). I carry it every few weeks and put it back into my knife case feeling a little disappointed.

I would agree with your thoughts. Especially that it could be more refined.

I have a Harsey designed Fantoni which I absolutely love. And a huge thank you to the gentleman that sent it my way.

It’s just the SHF doesn’t do it for me.
 
The SHF is one of my favorite knives. I have a blue Plague DR and a green Warthog. They are absolutely stunning with amazing detail! A joy to look at. Nothing out there like them that I’ve seen. I have medium sized hands but the ergo’s are still great on the large folders for me. Never tried a small though as they seem a little to small. They need to make a Schedium!

I like large knives, I carried a G-10 Spyderco Police (4”+) for over a decade so I’m used to them, but are a little big.

The SHF is a big, hefty, chunky knife, and built like a tank! It takes a bit for them to break in though and action a little different at first. I’ve taken mine apart a few times to clean, polish the washers, and oil well. one is very smooth now, and the other needs more work.

Sounds like you are where I was with CRK’s. Heard how awesome they were and then wound up with 3. Sold 2 of the 3 because I absolutely hated the action. A nice member turned me on to polishing the washers and getting the right lube. After that, I started enjoying the Sebenza more and was no longer on my “to get rid of list”, and now I have 2 Sebenza’s lol. Not to bring up CRK, but just a similar comparison with me.

Ya…I only wound up with 3..🤣😂🤣😜 (jokes)

I have a number of extremely smooth CRK’s. It’s one of the things I like about em.

Mitch isn’t kidding about the LG though. I only have 2. The button lock VECP is pretty dang smooth (about the same as my Plague DR SHF). The MK3 is crazy smooth though, and close to what my Rockstead was. I’d like to get a SHF Koi, and would really love one of the dragons in purple, those are gorgeous is my eyes. The SHF blades are very sharp new.

Nice, I have a warthog as well. I am considering sending it back to the mothership to have BRRRRRRRRRRT!!!! Engraved on the lock scale 😂

BTW you have some of the best LG knives. The MK3 is otherworldly smooth, and the VECP is an excellent all around knife. I've become a huge fan of the ESV as well.
 
Had a special addition dragon awhile back and it was super pretty but the finish (corners etc) was a little rough and getting it and out of the pocket was almost impossible due to the handle texture.

I sent it down the road but would be curious to try a pj 3.25 someday.

The ergos on the SHF just don’t work for me, unfortunately. Full stop. :( I also haven’t handled a SHF that the action was exceptional or acceptable to me.

I really wanted to love the SHF. Tell me why you love yours! Also, photos can’t hurt a poll thread. ;)

Full titanium and thumbstuds rule it out for me.
