amazon no longer shipping assisted knives to some states

Not too sure about Amazon & NJ.
My son surprised me with a PM2 from them. I had no clue and was thrilled I got a real one.
They shipped it to me last summer in NJ no problem.

I was on the phone fo 1/2 hours and now I don't remember about N.J. but I do know that it is not only assisted knives. I was trying to order a Spyderco Southard and it wouldn't allow to ship to anywhere in NY, Ma, and a few others. The only place they would ship to of my options was Michigan. They are being more restrictive than the knife companies themselves. I also noticed that there prices on better folding knives is out of control.
It's Funny that when customers tell them that vendors are selling counterfeits & clones as real they do absolutely nothing about it but if you want to order a knife you have to send it to another state and bother someone with shipping it to you. It's becoming a real drag ordering from them. The only reason that I even wanted to use them was because I had a gift card that was expiring soon.

Nope.
Amazon cancelled an order for a locking/non-assisted/thumb stud folder on me a couple of years ago (fulfilled by a reputable dealer), and I live way upstate in the sticks.
I stick with the forum dealers now almost exclusively.
You are correct.

Shipping to California is fine. Despite the bad rep California gets, our state knife laws are actually fairly reasonable - pretty much anything normal is legal, other than autos over 2". Individual counties and cities may vary (looking at you, LA).

You won't get anywhere with regular customer support - they don't have the power to fix it. I have heard you can get things done by emailing Bezos directly - jeff at amazon.com. He's got a dedicated staff that scans customer emails sent to him, and forwards them to the people who can actually fix things, like the category manager for knives, in this case. You could try that. No guarantees, of course.

Imagine the tantrum JB will throw when we learns that they're losing sales $ for no legitimate reason. You don't get to be the richest man in the world by passing up opportunities to make money.

They had a deal on Blurs today; tried to order one but they wouldn't ship to Manhattan.

Learned my lesson after getting a fake Endura. They also wouldn't post my negative feedback on the knife. I'm definitely done buying knives off of them.

Amazon sells at $58 but won’t deliver to my preferred address in New York.

Double the price as compared to Amazon at BassPro. But, “they” shall get it delivered.

Say, what, now?

I broke the tip of my #Buck110 while “prying” an aquarium light power-plug. Choices are to send it from India to Buck or get the blade re-profiled locally and that shall mean immediately getting it back AND a stronger tip, as well!

Due to:-

No hole for lanyard.
No belt clip.
Need both hands to open and close and all that! (One hand option is just stylish. Taking it out of the sheath is also time consuming when it comes to a crunch.),

I am gravitating towards replacing it as my carry on piece (No chic #EDC for #MeToo) where it is used multiple times, daily; many a times in woods and camping trips, where there is a good chance of it getting lost in foliage. A reflective lanyard would go a long way in such a night. (Drill a HOLE?) {In Buck 110} <Sergeant, Shoot this man in his hole!>

I am completely sold out to a #KershawBlur S30V but cannot get it delivered to New York from where my friend is coming to India in December and shall bring it. #Benchmade940 is deliverable and is also on top of the list but I get put-off by the rather slim design.

Confusion, confusion and some more confusion!
