Horned Toad is correct. One of the greatest mistakes that we make today is to judge prior cultures and their members by our "enlightened" standards. Do we condemn all societies throughout history becase the do not meet our current standards?

No, but when you're trying to sell a movie to people who expect it to give them a warm fuzzy feeling when they leave the cinemas, then you've got to strain the truth. Popular American movies seldom have heroes who are not 100% pure good and they seldom have tragic [real-life] endings.

If you want the truth you have to watch the History Channel :D
 
Watch the History Channel for the real truth? Surely you jest. The channel that runs shows about the whereabouts of Atlantis? The channel that shows how the Japanese sword was so superior to anything from the West? Shall I go on?
