I don't really understand why people say they are soo afraid yet all they are buying are only guns and ammo. Honestly how many people on here that are stock piling guns and ammo also have things like emergency food supplies, generators, batteries, flashlights and general natural disaster prep things?

I have all of the above and I'm not done. :)

What do you guys think about the Robinson XCR that or the Sig 556 seem to be much better options to the AR-15. I personally like the XCR, I cant stand the idea of the charging handle being on the right side on the Sig 556.

I kinda stay away from the AR15 type rifles, nothing wrong with them but to keep a low profile is hard to do if you pull out the Black "military looking Rifle" . I know my mini 14 is less of a gun compared to the AR type rifles but it seems to raise less Suspicion or hassle being most peeps I know have the mini 14/30 on there property, you may draw a crowd pulling out the black rifle....IMO

That Sig 556 is not for me. My friend bought one about 6 months ago. He got the top-o-the-line with an EOTech 552. I'm sure some people love it, but that's just too many accessory rails, it's super heavy, and it has a couple of small things they need to change. The ejector smacks the case into the gun and scratches it all up.

Thanks bro! Thats what I thought, that thing looked super heavy. I have seen AR type rifles that weighed a ton, and hated shooting them. Give me plain jane Colt AR15 w/ carry handle, and Im happy.

I tell ya, that Carbon 15 97S I had is by far my favorite AR type rifle I've ever owned, and I have gone through SEVERAL. That thing was so light weight and accurate. I loved it. That's one of the rifles I wish I hadn't let go. Get one of the Bushmasters though. The Professional Ordnance version wasn't quite as reliable. They were the original makers and I think that they just hadn't gotten the tooling perfect. Bushmaster cleaned it right up.

Good grief, if a guy from Tejas is saying that, we're already sunk...

;)Don I love firearms and have owned several different models and for me I prefer to lay low...I had a Bushmaster AR15 M4 configuration with 14.5" barrel and attached Izzy flash hider to get the barrel length over the required min length of 16" w/flat top A3 variant with removable carry handle. I sold it about 2-3 years ago...reason being I am left handed...I wanted to try the stag arms left version but I could not pass up the deal on the Ruger mini 14. still have the same slight issues being designed for a right handed person but the mini may go down the road as well for a good lever action rifle.

Ha ha Tony, you're a southpaw too eh?

There are only three truly left handed friendly rifles that are common on the market:

The AK.
Lever Actions.
The Ruger 10/22.

Arguably, the Garand, the M1A and the Mini14/30 are left friendly too, but there are some quibbles with those.

My "public" rifle is a Marlin 1894C in .357 Magnum. It will take a deer out to 125yds easy and will ruin a man's day or life out to 200 with a Marbles tang sight.

Another great southpaw tool is the Mossberg 500/590 12ga. shotgun family. With the tang mounted safety, these long arms are simplicity itself. The new 930 SPX looks promising too though semi autos aren't my thing in shotguns. I have been working on getting 200 yard hits on torso sized steel with rifled slugs lately when I feel less cash poor. It's not all that hard with rifle sights, but pretty tough with the bead on my shorter 500.

If I can build that skill, my Mossberg 590A1 might become my number one emergency long arm.

Yes Sir ,Lefty....
I have the Mossberg 500....and the Lever actions are calling my name...30/30 & 44mag.
I have a few 10/22's but that is just plinking,I do like the Ruger 44 carbine built on the basic design of the 10/22 but in 44 mag though discontinued it is an awesome rifle & I will snag one one day....never owned an AK but with $$ like they are now Guess I wont either

Well not everyone can be right handed. Some of you less fortunate have to be wrong handed to make us normal people feel good about how easy we've got it. hehehe.

That kick in the teeth was a right handed kick by the way. ;)

Never underestimate the .22 Long Rifle cartridge.

My next project after suppressing one of my 10/22s is to buy a Savage or CZ left handed bolt .22 lr and set that rifle up to do social work out to 300 yards so I can learn how to do it.

Since .22 lr remains cheap to practice with, I might as well make a virtue out of necessity.

yea , I love my 10/22's but my baby is my Tec22 small ,easy to conceal and shares my 10/22 magazines, threaded barrell for goodies:D

The Tec 22 was the nutz before Desert Eagle built the Picuda or Ruger built the Charger...it is made by Intratec made famous by the Tec9 ..this is the lil' bro.... mine is semi auto barely...I want to do the open bolt conversion....and it needs a supressor, the knurled nut on the end of the barrel protects the threaded portion for attachments

Man, that thing is freakin cool!

I seen those chargers, I bet it wont be long before a kit comes out to make it more tactical looking.
