RAT (ESEE) has their rat pack, of which I'm a member. I'm proposing a group of supporters for JK knives. Something fun, no exclusion or anything silly like that. Maybe you have to own a JK or have one on order. Any thoughts?

Well, the vast majority of my customs (current and likely future) are JKs, and I'm a huge fan of John's work, so I could definitely get into something like this. I don't know much about the rat pack, though. What would this sort of thing involve, above and beyond the subforum?

Well the way the Rat pack (ESSE) works is you have to have a minimum of 25 posts in the subforum, numbers are assigned, and contests are created for the rat pack only with various give aways. contests include simply posting your number and having a drawing or as in depth as shelter building with all things revolving around esse knives( most of the time, but not always). So if something similar was created here JK knives would be the focus. its really just something fun to get the members active in the forum.
 
Sounds like a neat idea to me, and I think the basic qualifications of the Rat Pack will work, but I think we should definitely include that they must have a knife from John, or have one on order.

Well as was posted above regarding how ESEE is running theirs, my idea of having at least 1 of John's knives, and we can spice it up with giveaways, contests, stories, pics, etc.
Any other ideas before I ask John's permission will be appreciated! Get involved! Fun awaits! And I will volunteer to oversee aspects if he wants.
 
I like this idea. I think as far as posts, maybe not so much, but as long as you own at least one JK, or have one on the way you should be in.
 
ive been around for a long time and own one of johns knifes but probly dont have 25 posts but if need be i will contribute more. hell, i plan on contributing more anyways because thats what its all about. Im likin this idea!
 
I don't think post count is critical. That is the rat pack criteria. This criteria is that you own, or have on order, a JK knife. We need a name now. ...


Any more ideas? Throw them out there, guys!

Hmmm.... I am not much of a follower. So I'd be sitting this out.

Still posting and buying John's knives of course.:thumbup:

The "single mindness" of the majority of the R.A.T pack posters sours the whole idea for me.

This is,of course,just my opinion. The majority of the posters in John's rented room of Spark's house are stand-up guys who know good steel. Even if John didn't make it.;)
