And, Cold Steel wins....... as usual

I've still yet to hear any factual rebuttal of Cold Steel's tests . Lots of crying and "we don't care " and " it doesn't matter" , but zero proof or evidence that the tests are not real and true . All this bashing is very weak . :) Cold Steel wins again !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm not a CS 'hater' myself. I don't see any reason to believe the tests are fake. I have a handful of their folders in a box around here somewhere. With the occasional exception of a Mini Tuff Lite, I don't have any interest in carrying them though. That super strong lock may be a "win", but it's also a PitA to close for me in comparison to a simple liner lock. The pocket clips are also all ridiculously tight. Given my examples are all from the AUS-8 era, so maybe that's changed by now.

That said, I also don't carry a Sebenza or any other pricey knife that a CS may have 'beaten' in a test. I'm absent-minded and will eventually leave any folder I carry sitting somewhere. I typically just grab a Rat-1 or cheapie Spyderco these days. Locks haven't failed yet, but then I haven't tried doing pull ups on 'em.

Cold Steel made a strong lock and therefore focuses on its strength, in the same way CRK emphasizes its tolerance. It comes down to marketing, you focus on what sets you apart from others. I use my knife properly and I don't walk around with Vernier calipers, so an ultra-strong lock or tolerances surpassing the aerospace industry really aren't going to make a difference to me. But they add to the allure of the brand.

I would want all my folding knives to have the World's Strongest Lock, but it isn't one of my top priorities when buying a knife and it still hasn't piqued my interest in buying a CS knife. Maybe I'd think differently if lock failure claimed one of my fingers, but until then these tests just seem like a marketing gimmick.
