And The Snark Goes On

Eh, my hand's not as big as you think it is. I actually have narrow fingers, just a wide hand. 1066vik has bigger hands than I do.

I know, I just like to snark with you.
I had a friend we called Big Sam. He was 6'10" and about 405lbs. He was heavy but not sloppy. He had some massive hands. One night while hanging out with him and putting back a few, I made a comment about how I missed getting superman rides around the house like I did when I was little. Before I knew it Sam grabbed me by the back of my belt and jacket and gave me a superman ride all around the house (I was about 190lbs at the time) like it was nothing.......

Haha, that's awesome.

The thing about welding if you've ever done much of it, is its not if but when you get burnt. Getting lit up is something to a certain extent you get used to. Just wondering how hes gonna handle the first nasty one. Wondering if it makes me a bad parent setting him up for it. You never like to see your kids hurt.

I have never welded, well... Nothing that counts anyways.. 1 time the mechanic where i worked was welding something and i asked him to try it out so he let me play around for a few minutes welding on some scraps.

And i dont think that makes you a bad parent at all.. If i remember correctly you said he asked to weld, the fact that your teaching him is awesome in my opinion.

These days i think people are too gentle and soft with their kids, which i can understand completely and im guilty of it to a certain extent myself. Its a hard scary world out there and anything is possible so we try and shield our children from the bad things... But this also limits their exposure to LIFE, bad stuff is a big part of it and knowing how to deal with the bad stuff is what helps keep you going to the good stuff.

Im guilty of not letting my kids get outside and play that often around here, and thats only because of the area. Since we have lived here there has been a murder not 50 yards from our front door, there have been street fights, there was recently a kid hit by a car... And so on.. And this is a HUGE reason im doing everything in my power to get back to the country ASAP where im comfortable letting my kids play outside more... Of course there are still risk in the woods, a whole different set of risks..... But those are ones i can at least understand, plan around and try and prevent..... And if/when something bad happens i will be more prepared to deal with it.

Nobody likes a know-it-all:D

I stand corrected;)

Thats probably the first time i have EVER been called a know it all :D

I did some arc welding in ag, during high school. I got excellent grades, but I never pursued it, and don't remember anything about it now.

Now who is smarter??? :p

Well, I gotta say thats pretty well said. Cant argue with your logic. Gotta let em grow up. Fact is, I dont worry about my boy as far as how he will do in life. He's smarter than me and has a hell of a work ethic now. My daughter however, I loose sleep over. Poor thing, im hoping she just hasnt found that thing in life that excites her. Once she does, I just hope its worth while.

Welding, I'm certified. Been so since college. Mig, tig, ark, oxy acetylcholine, DC reverse welding. You name it. I have joined it with electric. Which brings another danger to the table. Electrocution. Lol, didn't have the ground right on the mig just tonight and about knocked my balls out of my undies, lol.

I believe the 2nd ZT from left is the ZT 0121 fixed blade.

And TBL told me he is the definition of a ZT fan, he doesnt rotate, he brings them all everywhere.. Including the shower :D

WW is correct on all counts.

It is a 0121 Fixed blade. The two major knife companies that do it for me are BK&T / Ka-Bar and ZT. Shower, Hot Tub, Pajamas, House Coat, even while fully naked I normally have all of them on me :D Each of them provide something different for my day and gives me options for different tasks. I normally use all of them once a day for something. The only two items that I don't use every day in my EDC are my flashlight and nail clippers :P

TJ when the budget presents itself I'll definitely be jumping on something exquisite ;)

In other news. I heard from Dex today. He's doing good and will have some big news coming soon.

Good friend of mine growing up was / is huge. He was 6' 9" over 200 lb in middle school! He is like 6' 11" and almost 400 lb now and works on semi's, not fat at all. In school we played football and I had to do all my drills with him because I was 2nd biggest.. but I was only 5' 9" and 200 lb.. it was like running into a tree.

However, I guess to give him some credit, I have a display hanging in my bedroom of old knives my dad made years before I was born. However, he never gave them to me, he had them wrapped in shop towels locked in a closet for years. I felt they deserved better. When I moved out, I knew he'd never give them to me so I took them. Made a display and mounted them to my wall with a engraved plaque with his name on them. Turned out beautiful. He didn't take them back but to this day he tells people that I stole them. Maybe that has something to do with it. :D

I had the pleasure and honor of seeing these exceptional knives. I didn't know they were stolen!

HAHAHA! Nope not it. I did almost fall off my stool laughing just now tho. I hate shoes man. Just Hate em!

But anyway, what's up guys. I am still alive and kicking for those of you wondering. Just been real busy with lots of family stuff and trying to get this new project off the ground.

I really can't wait to to tell all of you about it. Hopefully by friday, but most likely next week, I will have everything up and running good enough to let everyone in on it.

And man, I am learning how to do my own website and it's kicking my ass! Haha. Well, it's not really that hard just takes up a lot of time and there are so many possibilities and options as far as how to set it up and it get's real frustrating when it won't do what you want.

Anyway, hope you all are doing well and I will be back on here a lot more very soon. Just trying to focus on my new business right now. My brain is fried trying to figure out all the details. :D

Oh and Warrior, I sent you an email earlier today. Please let me know if you didn't receive it.

Dex, I've heard, I'm excited!
