This story is giving me flashbacks. I was involved in a construction project in 1979 -- building the new warm-up house and starters building on top of Whiteface Mountain (near Lake Placid) for the downhill skiing events in the 1980 Winter Olympics. The contractor kept getting postponed from hauling the materials up the hill because the fall rains kept the hill so muddy that any large vehicle traffic would’ve totally chewed up the landscape. They ended up chartering a Sikorsky Sky Crane in the end and just had the loads airlifted up and dropped off. Hope your story plays out without getting so dramatic...

Well yeah. It's been wet and muddy before but never like this. The first Mori was pretty rough now that I think about it, but that was largely due to equipment failure. The second went pretty smooth (for seven tons of misery that you have to roll around). But #3 is making my hair fall out.
HI Nathan! I also own and use those forklifts. They are heavy enough that in soft subsoil conditions, you only get 1 or 2 passes on the track. They are awesome in dry conditions, but not a good idea in wet. And once you sink them with a load? #$&%=&$$ Bad news!

Sorry for the timing.... I had not heard you were moving. That's exciting

oh we're not moving, we ought to be but no. I'm still jammed into this little shop. We're just moving stuff around making room for another machining center. This will be five large machining centers now. We're basically in a one-car garage...

No, we are having to get another driveway put in going to the side of the house where the 2nd garage door is. :(
You may already be aware, but geotextile fabric is a "must--have" part of the project to keep the stone layer intact and prevent the driveway from breaking down over time. In my part of the country, no one would even consider a driveway without it .
