:eek::eek::):eek::eek:

Hmm. I've already got one for each hand.

Maybe I can figure a way to use one with a foot.;)

I like having spares of the knives I really like.

Before slipping on some icy trusses, 14 years ago, four stories in the air and tearing tendons in my right knee blowing out the disc between L4 and L5 fighting my way back up onto the icy structural member of the building. Which in turned made multiple surgeries necessary and effectively cost me my career in the carpenters union. (I weighed 260 then and had another 90 pounds of tools and fasteners in by pouches, on my belt, and around my neck) I had fallen in love with the old S1 SOG Bowie and bought two more just to have as spares. Sometimes I really miss the days of making $2,000.00 a week and having my insurance paid for me...I'd definitely be keeping Andy busy now...but I don't miss the hours inside the dark annals of a nuclear power plant at all and I do love the freedom to hit the woods pretty much whenever I want now that I work for myself.

After recieving an acceptable sampling, I have approved this order. 600 machete blades being made! Woo Hoo!

Andy, I realize they'll arrive and you'll work on and finish them 'whenever it happens', but just for the sake of getting my ducks and dollars in a row, are we looking at a release/sale date of a month from now or closer to three months? No pressure.:D

Wow those look grate, and the 4 for 3 deal is very generous for what is obviously a quality product if its coming out of your shop. I'm saving up now, I can't wait this is the first time I have been excited about a machete, and will likely be the last I own. So thanks for making a grate product at a working man's price it's much appreciated. Good luck with the rest of the batches and keep up the good work.

They said early November they'd ship from El Salvador. Now, how accurate that is, how long shipping takes (ocean), and inspection results are very hard to time. Hopefully by Thanksgiving, 20 or so have been sold.

Cool, maybe I'll be able to get another one with a carbon fiber bullseye to match the Bushfinger and have this one on hand for a spare....or to match the recluse :)

I'm not sure how to understand this. Do you mean in total to date you've sold and delivered 20 of your machetes from previous batches? Or that 20 from the upcoming, yet to be delivered batch have been pre-sold? I was under the impression that you weren't making an 'interested' list or taking orders and prepayments on this newest batch due hopefully in November. I'm really sorry to keep pestering Andy about this, so maybe someone else can jump in with some insights as to what his last post meant.

Probably a combination of previous ones sold at Blade and a few "pre-sold" to customers with long established histories of buying Fiddleback blades...the ones he is still taking custom orders from...but that is just my guess on what that meant, that's how I took it.

These are amazing! I have been following this thread for awhile. I would love to see one with Micarta.

I think micarta is the default handle material...I know mine is micarta...

That's awesome!!!!!

I can't remember what page it is on but he posted the first finished one in a light color wood. I would snap up a 12 inch of that in a second.

Yeah, he made some in micarta and some in oak I think for the Blade show. He and Dylan have Oak handles on theirs but I think the wooden handles are an up-charge, standard handles are micarta I'm pretty sure.

There's one out there somewhere with walnut on it - that one is bound to be sweet. I wonder if you can order three 12 inchers and one longer one and still get the 4-for-3 deal, or do you have to get one of each size for that?

Ha ha... somebody else was thinking the same thing as me.

I'm a newcomer to this forum but am very interested in machetes generally and these look very nice. I too would love to take advantage of 4 for the price of three but in my case I would be interested in only 16 inch blades. My reason for this is that is the size I believe is the maximum size for carrying comfortably on my belt. The other major factor for me however is the weight of the machete. Have the weights of these machetes been provided as yet?

Hi Glenn. I haven't weighed a finished one. They'll fluctuate a bit since the handle is hand shaped.
