That's all me, buddy. Every time I get in or out of my car, whenever I get up or sit down, basically any time I'm going somewhere or about to do something.

We must look a little odd haha.

I've accepted that I probably look odd doing it. :) I also have a rhythm for doing so, such that I can match it to a list in my head of what I always have.

Someone needs to do a Youtube video of the Knife Macarena.
I just checked, and there isn't one yet, which seems to be a shame (given all the other odd junk on there :D).

Right pocket = tanto seb
Right belt = balisong + sheathed midtech folder
Left belt = flashlight
Back pocket = knuckles

Heeyyyyy macarana!

I haven't lost a lot of knives. Mostly I either misplace them around the house and find them later or I lay them down after using them and forget about them. Clips, no clips, doesn't matter.

I always wanted to start a thread asking the value of your EDC, but I figured I'd come off boastful. Maybe we can do both extremes.
Expensive carry, and super economy carry.

I can pat my pockets and find well over 2 grand on some occasions.

I like the idea. I think there was at one point a thread to the former respect floating around, but I'm not sure if it's still active. I'm in the same boat with value -- I've always been largely into tech, so I always have some fancy gadget or two, along with increasingly nicer knives, thanks to being here :)

Haha, I like it! I'd be even worse off if I could find the pocket room for a second knife! Maybe I need to look into something sheathed...

There doesn't seem to be an option to edit the poll...

However, all who wish to self-identify as oddball non-clip carriers can post that fact, and I will count how many there are. :D

Real, real, real bold statement to call non-clip carriers "oddball". I'd clarify "people who have removed a clip from a knife to carry it clipless" as I guarantee there are more people carrying traditionals that don't come with a clip loose in a pocket than you think.

If you find that bold or slightly offensive, run away from my book!
I'm not known for my concern of people's feelings. ;)

I've lost a clipped folder, no idea how it got lost though since Emerson clips are pretty tight.

hahaha not offended at all, don't worry. Bold may be connotated with an offended air, but that's not what it means. I mean it literally, as in confident, but I should have said it was an "over-bold" statement. I just plain think it's wrong that a significant minority of people who carry knives carry them clipped.

I'm sure there's plenty who carry clipless knives, traditional and otherwise.
Whatever percentage that is remains an unknown, but will likely decrease merely based on what's available at most stores, whether it's Walmart, the local gun store, or many websites.

I figure people largely buy what's readily available, and in recent decades there's been plenty of clips.
But there'll still be plenty of knives for people who want one without a clip...even weirdoes like me who occasionally get one clipless, even though it'll largely remain uncarried.

I *very nearly* lost a knife because of a clip-- I thought I had lost it. I went all day thinking Leatherman E55b had dropped somewhere, until I was putting my jacket on to leave the office for the day. The pocket clip had snagged on an inside pocket of the jacket and was just hanging there. I don't know if that's a plus or a minus for pocket clips; guess it's a wash.

Technically yes, I've lost a knife due to it having a clip. I lost my Bradley Alias II (Ti/framelock) because of a design flaw or oversight which caused the pocket clip to loosen under normal use. The lockbar is positioned under the clip in such a way that over-extension of the lock bar pushes the clip out a hair over time -- pictured.

I was at the doctor's office and the knife was clipped inside my pocket in the examination room. It fell out at some point, though fortunately the doc spotted it before I left.

I voted "No," because I've never carried a clipped knife. ;)
If I did carry a clipped knife, I most certainly would have lost it. I lose anything that's not connected by a lanyard. :(

Fair enough. :)
I hear you on the lanyards; I don't use em, but my step-brother will lose anything not tied to him.

I've dropped almost every knife I own. Usually shortly after getting them. I know your pain. I now play with my new knives over grass, not concrete. I was lucky the other day and my new Mcusta Katana landed on the running board of my truck and not the driveway as I was getting out of the truck.

Lost one clipped because the clip was too loose and it shook off.wouldn't have happened if I had it buried deep in m pants pockets. :(
