Hey folks. Unfortunately I will be out of town for the weekend. My girlfriends mother had surgery yesterday to remove some cancerous growths on her kidney. Jenni went back home yesterday and I'm going to meet up with her in Richmond to spend some time with her family for a couple of days. I won't be able to check in until Monday afternoon so everyone have a good weekend and get those entries in! :)

I would suggest finding where the neighbors moved to and move next to them. Or just go kick their asses for taking off with your internet!

So...since Jeff upped the ante and will be sending a RC-6 to the wiener, can we play if we don't currently own an RC-6?

If so I'll go out with my boy in the morning and throw up a shelter. :o

I don't know Bro. this is a tough one.

The spirit of the contest was to show what one could do with "just" an RC-6. And thats the spirit that all the other 3 contestants went into it with.

By opening it up now to folks with other knives, even if you were to take only a comparable blade, you or they could be given an advantage in the minds of the other contestants.

I'm no longer a judge on this but Tony, and clown are the ones who would make a decision like this and neither one are available this weekend.

I'm going to have to say that we need to go with the original rules and say it has to be an RC-6.

Sorry to be a stickler but I'm not in a position to change the rules that Clown set up and it is his contest.

No...being a stickler is good and fair. Maybe could have been different if I asked before the contest started. Its all good though. Nice shelters to the current contestants and good luck!!

:D If you can build one with a butter knife or a SAK Classic SD or maybe nail clippers, then he should just post pics up for bragging rights.

Well, me and the boy got our shelter done today after working on it a couple of hours on Sunday's for the past three weeks, and just in the nick of time :D, we decided to give you guy's some competition :).
we built a lean to type shelter on the back side of the farm next to Back Creek. I thought about building something down here just for a place to get away from the daily grind as it's pretty quite back here and you can hear the owls an frogs at night, this contest was just the thing to make me get off my lazy but and Git er Done.
Here's me starting to cut some downed limbs at the creek.

And the basic frame

We secured the corner posts with some quick cordage made from grass, not the strongest stuff but it worked ok for this.

Once we had the frame up we laid branches across to tie in the frame somewhat.

Used the RC 6 to cut grass for the roof, this part took the longest just cut a pile and carring it to the shelter.

.
As soon as hay season calms down a bit we plan on spending a couple of nights testing it out.

All the shelters look really great, But I think it's really cool that a young person like nc527 would go out and do stuff like this and appreciates a good Knife.

Best of luck to everyone :)
