I'm new to the hobby of collecting knives. I've loved knives for ever and one of my earlier knife possessions happens to be a bm bali song that I got when I was training in Kali and muay thai. I would like to chime in that for every person who sells a knife, or any collectible, for more than they got it for, there are 100's of sales that go the opposite direction. If you don't believe me, try it. Put some money away and only buy knives that you think you can flip to make money. I doubt that at the end of the year, after shipping and cost of posting etc. you will have actually made much over what you spent and that's not even beginning to add in any type of pay for your time. However, I would guess that there are a few reading what I just wrote snickering to themselves "I do it".
So far, I've had the pleasure of playing with a bunch of lower dollar crkt's, rat 1, utilitac, type knives that I will be reselling on ebay this week and am now into ZT, Reate, BM, microtech and spyderco knives. I have some, a 0301 and a 0200 in particular, that I got to try out, but are not right for me, so they will move on to, hopefully, a more apprecative home.
I always think of hobbies like I do working out, you don't get money value, you get life value.
