Another new guy...Updated with first knife pics

Hey Josh, the only thing I see is a small finish flaw in the blade, right in front of the scale at the top on the left side, and otherwise I just wonder about your pin location choice. I like using three pins--and often do, but to me they look best if the are down the centerline of your handle, and evenly spaced with the middle on being in the middle of the handle--of course they can go many places, and it can come down to just artistic taste.

Yes sir I see it. Amazing how the flaws pop out in the right light. As far as the pins go I'm not sure what I was thinking in my original design. I decided to just use the three and I actually kinda like how they turned out. It's definitely better than how it would have looked if I wouldn't have talked myself out if the six.

These are the issues experience fixes over time. Pin placement looks different when a handle is shaped than it does on a drawing of flat tang. It's hard to explain until you see it in hand.

Just a personal preference thing. Polished blades look like a maker is trying to cover something up to me. A satin 400g or 600g finish with crisp grinds shows precision. Some like polished blades, but they are often associated with flea market import blades. Not a criticism, just an opinion.

To be honest I was gonna to finish to 400 but I couldn't make it look decent. I need to watch Nick Wheeler's videos again. Another problem I had was when I tried to buff the handle I couldn't keep from buffing the spine and blade just in front of the scales
