Another poll. How many of you out there are like me?

Light user at the moment -- cds, mail, packages, apples that I would otherwise just eat but I want to use my Axis on something!

However, I'm an actor, and was on a pretty grueling tour earlier in the year. My knife use went up to the mid-range category, and my Leatherman Wave got heavy use almost daily.

Moderate user, here. Most of my cutting chores (approximately several times a day) are accomplished by a SAK Tinker model backed by a LT Micra. However, I always carry a LT Super Tool. I use it probably no more than a few times a week, but there have been times when I needed it badly, each time it fixed the problem (including a self defense situation,) and for that I carry it always.

Sometimes I carry a Spyderco Delica w/serrated edge, but not on a daily basis. It is usually on me when I am in the garden, out in the woods, or in a situation where I can reasonably expect to do some cutting.

I don't consider any of my knives as weapons (especially the usually fearsome Micra!), but I am aware of their capabilities, JIC. The best defense of all is to avoid "situations," anyway.

I am a light user actually a very light user.

Well my use varies from one extreme to the other. Some days very light, some days very hard.

My knife use doesn't neccessarily break down by my job routine or whatever. I am a fairly light knife user and a very heavy tool user. Why install the new ceiling fan by going for the tool box when my LM Wave is at hand? Why rip up my thumbs cracking pistachioes when my SAK is in my pocket? Most of my knives hardest used are the Henckels in the kitchen. I do have some very tough medium and large fixed blades and folders. They mostly see duty camping, with the Fallkniven F1 taking the lion's share of the work. It has seen some heavy cutting and even prying with no fault whatsoever.

Overall, my most used knife is a Victorinox Hunter lockback. No wonder steel. No wonder lock. Just under thirty dollars of very servicable and versatile knife. It is the everyday carrying piece. I suppose it could be forced into a tactical mode if necessary, but things better be pretty desperate. When uncomfortable with where I am going it is an M2 BM AFCK all the way.
