Another TL-29 thread

Nice knives!

Charlie has some beauties. IIRC, Ken Erickson made a custom electrician knife based on one of Charlie's Empire knives.

I was told I should post this here. I'm a relative rookie in the slipjoint/traditional world. I picked this one up off a gentleman with one heck of a collection at an annual swap meet.

VERY cool old Case electricians knife, Murphnuge!:thumbup:
Glad you found this thread! :D

Thanks! It's my very first vintage Case. I see me dropping a lot more coin on older folders soon enough.

Have a few. Most are Colonial or Imperial advertisement knives but have a Craftsman, Camillus and a few others.

edbeau, I always admire your box of electricians' knives!:thumbup: Great to see it again!

One word comes to mind when I consider the TL-29 --- MUNDANE.

That said (or perhaps because of it), I can't imaging not having one.

I see a lot of them too. This one caught my eye because of the sheepsfoot.
I am 51% sure that it's a ground-down hawksbill, because I've never seen a sheepsfoot on one of these. on the other hand, the nail-nick seems perfectly cut and the three-bladers still made by the same company have all the nicks on the same side.

It has a nice swell-end handle (micarta) that fits the hand well, and an Empire shield as a tribute to the original Empires!

That's a nice Schrade Cut, flatblack!!
Missed it when I finally posted my pics!

Thanks for starting this thread, Rachel. :)
Bob, your modded Case is very cool!:cool:
Jake, you certainly have an impressive array of 'em!:thumbup:
I intentionally picked up a Camillus version (you have great taste, SAK Guy :p) at a gun and knife show, and, for a working knife, I think it's elegant as all get-out (as my Grandpa used to say)!

Unintentionally, I somehow have ended up with several more electrician knives!:o
Here's a Holub (thanks to davek14), with a hawkbill and a modded screwdriver, still in need of a good clean-up:

Here's a sawcut Boker USA (thanks to Markesharp):

And here's a Rough Rider version with one of my favorite shields:

I didn't read all the posts in this thread, so hopefully no one has asked this - but I'm looking into getting a rough rider electrician knife as a gift for someone, and I'm wondering how hard it is to open, close, and unlock. I have a few rough riders, lockbacks and one liner lock. The lockbacks are no problem, but the liner lock is pretty stinking difficult to open and unlock. Any feedback on that would be helpful.
