Answer: A chopper and a small carry knife...............

Yeah, I agree, too, that if there's going to be a folder, then it would be smart to give it a higher RC - 62, or even higher perhaps.

Actually, I've been secretly (not so secretly) hoping that someday, Jerry might make a Busse puukko - no choil, no guard, no talon holes, a basic Game Warden like small handle with a blade about 3" to 4" long and no wider than the handle, with a scandi or full convex grind. Out of INFI, of course, and hardened to 60-62. I'd buy four.

Let's face it, anything made of INFI and says Busse on the blade will sell.
I wouldn't mind a Busse folder but would not want one with micarta handles. :thumbdn:
The Busse fixed blades are awesome with micarta, but, after getting my Ray Rogers custom folder with its titanium slabs and seeing other custom folders with titanium I wouldn't want anything else.
Titanium on a folder is as cool as it gets, jmo.
Titanium with inserts is acceptable also ;)
A folder with an INFI blade would be great but give me titanium handles.
But, as already stated, if it's INFI and Busse........ ;)
An axe or hatchet made of INFI would easily sell, also, just for collector sake.

Sag.

A folder would be awesome, and I WOULD buy at least one if it were offered, but I don't think Busse needs to bother. It's not really their thing, or their market. It certainly COULD be their market, if Jerry decides to go for it. (look out Sebenza, there's a new sheriff in town!) I just don't see it happening. There's too much risk to their warranty and reputation involved. You know the first day the folder is offered, some clown is going to jam it into a tank tread, drive over it with a 60 ton Abrams, and then bitch about it "failing" all over the internet.

An Infi axe would be cool, I can understand the allure, but I don't know if I'd get one. Most chopping I do can be handled easily by a FBM. Anything bigger and I go for the chainsaw. This aint the 18th century.

Now the machete- THAT'S something I'm dying to see. A no-nonsense, 18" machete made from Infi would be the ultimate. Mmmmm. Tasty. Zombie slayer heaven!

Very well put Elen! I agree 100%. In Virginia, knife laws are fairly reasonable. While the sheeple near the cities may gawk in shock and fear at a small 3-4 inch fixed blade on someone's hip, most places no one would take a second look.

Not much interest in a folder from Busse... Nor an axe... A large Nessmuk or Kuhkri would be the shiznit though.

I think I must support the 'Ducci Revolution ... bring on the folder! At least an Rc of 62, please. It's just a 'hole' that needs filling. ;)

An axe ... maybe, but not in INFI. I agree that Jerry's skills are easily great enough to produce a fabulous axe from a more appropriate (and cheaper!) steel.

What else? I wouldn't say no to the Busse Khukri or even Machete. :D

While I would be interested in a Busse axe or folder I think both would be quite expensive through either amount of infi needed or through amount of time taken to fabricate.

I do think that while Jerry would make a really good folder he would probably go fat with it. This might not sit well with the folder users but I believe the design would have to be fat to withstand the abuse many would throw at it. I have a range of Busses now and the fatness is reassuring I think I may find that a folder would feel flimsy.

If we're talking about knives we wish Jerry would make then my vote goes towards a double edged dagger. I would love to see Jerrys' take on the F/S Commando Dagger. I can only imagine it would have a beefy handle with a thick blade and the penetration of a JDAM.

Go on Jerry make one, the company name is Busse Combat Knife Company and says combat knife like a double edged dagger!

I am starting to get used to spending $1000+ on a single Busse.
It just takes me a little longer to recover.. ( no sweat ) I have limited bills "for now".. :foot:

Bring on the Ax, kuhk, or machete ...

Jerry did make a Dagger or two, Skunk has one and has posted pictures a few times, check his old posts, it is pretty cool..........

An Axe would be interesting but not needed. A folder cool for me since I'm in California but not necessary and it would have to use Ti or heaven forbid be an all INFI design.........
A kuhk or a machete would be bought very quickly and appreciated.

The question: What doesn't Busse make?

What are two of the most asked questions you see here in the Busse Forum?

1) What is the best large and medium chopper?

2) What is your favorite EDC knife in the 3.5" - 4" range knife?

The usual answer to question #1 ranges from a FBM, FFBM, SHBM, BME to FSH, FFSH, SHE, SHII, Sarsquach, ETC. The REAL answer should be a nice hatchet or small Axe, something like a Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet which has a 14" handle and a 3" cutting edge. I have one and it is a great little tool that is actually made for chopping!

The answer to question #2 is almost always either an Active Duty or a Mean Street. Small fixed blades are fine, but not very practicle in everyday use. I would bet that more than 85% of the people that carry a knife daily, carry a folding knife and that is what Busse needs to make. I would like to see any type of folding knife with a frame lock or other positive lock, I personally don't need the one that is nuke proof, but just that it works well. I have several quality frame locks that have never failed to stay in the locked position.

I guess I just get tired sometimes of the same threads repeating the need for a real chopper and a EDC knife.

O.K. I said my piece, now lets hear your opinions on the lack of a Axe or Folder.....................................

:D

I don't know what you are talking about Ducci. My axes and folders all work just fine for me. :D

The famous BUSSE FOLDER!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

I like what Busse makes and I like the way they makem. Why should Busse venture into areas of less need and greater competition? I never carry a folder anyhow

.

So, I guess all you guys that don't want Jerry to "Venture off to somethnig new", just want another fixed blade knife that is a length that is already covered by four or more other models?

Once Upon a Time(as many good stories start)

I was HOT for a Busse Folding knife.

Well, I got over that about the time I moved to Oregon where is is legal to carry an auto, which then makes the Busse folder need to compete with my Severtec.

When a Busse auto get made, maybe, other than that I would more likely Ship Aaron a small to mid-size Busse to cut down to fit in His frame.
