Zactly! Would the year 2007 fit somehow, or is it a waste of good symmetrical balance or limiting of the issue? Dunno. I like your graphics program. Ya done good on all of them!

Thanks Codger! Yeah, I could put 2007 and 2008 in the spaces to the right and left of the spit. Let me know.
 
Well, it might be a good idea to just hold up and see if the "copyright police" pounce, or the website owner objects or... we still do not even have permission to use the BF name. I originally posted the "Man on a spit" (with text removed) as a Bare Gorillas joke. But it does kinda reflect this forum in a light hearted manner. In a way, I like that idea itself better than portraying it as militaristic or somehow a certifying organization. I mean, what besides skill and knowledge is more important to survival and wilderness skills that a sense of humor? And come to think of it, haven't most of us been roasted here at one time or another? :D

I certainly didn't mean to be a buzzkill. I just know that copyright infringement is a nasty beast we shouldn't have to struggle with. I do like the image, and if need be, we could create our own roasting man.
 
I emailed SPARK asking permission (very politely and reasonably) to use the BladeForums.com and Wilderness & Survival Forum names. I guess we'll know soon enough.

Why are a large number of people, including myself, not allowed to vote in the poll?
 
In order to create or participate in polls, you have to be a paying member.

I included your vote as well as all the votes of registered (non-paying) users. The way polls are programed to work in BF is such that only paying members can vote. That's one of the benefits of a paid membership. I am manually tabulating the votes of registered users who vote through their posts.
 
Hey guys - personally I'm glad you guys are getting together and putting forth such a project.

My own opinion is that the simpler and more low key a patch is, the better. When you get into huge amounts of small details, it winds up being unrecognizable from anything further than 3 feet away. So, with that in mind, I'd suggest you guys come up with a simple logo, that would work well in 2 or so colors, such as tan / black, or green / black.

As far as what symbols are on the patch, a knife and an axe seem to be duplication, again just MHO. A silhouette of a knife & axe behind a fire, with BLADEFORUMS WILDERNESS SURVIVAL around it would probably get the point across.

Your modified patch design #2 (38.57% of the votes) and patch design # 4 (25.71% of the votes) are by far, up to now, the most popular in the poll (64.29% of all the votes). Spark's idea seems to be somewhat of a combination of both with the addition of fire. Just to consider it, can you try to work out something like what Spark describes?
