So I ended up getting a tan one for Christmas, the only knife that I requested, actually. My first Benchmade post-MAP and most likely my last for a long time or until some intriguing, new designs are finally introduced since all of my now 5 Benchmades are designs that were introduced years ago (940, 710, 707, 558, 275) and the only ones that have ever piqued my interest. Did my research though and made the wife aware of a reputable dealer that sells for a good bit less than MAP on some stuff.
With the many complaints of QC issues lately, I'll say my copy is just about perfect. Blade centering is absolutely perfect with lockup as solid as my Sebenzas. If we're going to be really nitpicky, the only thing you might could call a flaw is that there are a couple tiny dings you can feel on the inside edge of the liners.
The knife is a beast, and if a situation arose where I found myself in deep dookie, it might be the very knife I'd reach for if it's folders only we're talking.
