Any Adamas lovers?

Anybody ever checked with Benchmade about the possibility (and cost) of swapping the scales? I have a tan on the way but would rather have the black G10.

You can swap them, but it will cost you close to $60. At least that's how much a scale swap for a Rift is. If it's the new tan G10 instead of the coated G10, you can always get some black RIT Dye and make them black yourself for about $3 and 2hrs of work.

Now that's news to me, that there are actual tan G10 one's out there. I don't know if the used one I'm buying is coated or actual tan. If actual tan, I may keep it that way.

Too many thumbstuds in this thread.

Wow! How long did it take you to get that mirror edge on your blade? :D

I mounted the scales today to see what they might look like, they wont be staying on it though. I made too many mistakes because I rushed them, but ill take my time on the next set.

The Adamas originally came with coated scales. Some folks experienced chipping of the tan coating and complained. Benchmade now makes the scales from tan G10. If you get one with coated scales, you can always try soaking them in some acetone to see if it will facilitate removal of the coating. Then you'll have black scales.

I initially got the tan coated scales. Once I found out that they changed to full tan scales, I got Benchmade to replace my coated ones. They didn't charge me anything for the replacement

If you had asked to change colors, it would have been a different story. I tried to swap my Rift scales from black to gray/black, and they were going to charge me.

I love the 275, except for Benchmade's crappy assembly screws. I switched mine to titanium.
