How do-able will it be? Enough demand for it? Maybe a special run?? What do u guys think?

I'd really, really like to see a Ladybug, Ladybug II or Jester in VG10 - or S30V :-)

The Dragonfly, too, cries out to be done in a really, really good steel. To my mind it's actually one of Spyderco's best small knife designs, and it doesn't seem to have many fans. A CF / VG10 Dragonfly would be hard to resist...

Yup yup yup. The main reason why I wish my FRN Ladybug in VG-10 is because the steel does hold an edge longer to me. I'd be happy enough to settle with the VG-10 for the Ladybug, won't "mind" S30V, though, but to me that's kinda a luxury already for a keychain knife. Then again, anything would be cool.

I figure the steel is such a small part of the actual production cost of a 2" knife... it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference to the retail.

I have a Ladybug, and to be honest I don't see the point of issuing it with premium materials. To me anyway, it's too darn small and awkward for any real cutting use. There might be a collectors' market though for a Premium Ladybug if the handle was a different material too - something to make it easily distinguished from the normal production line.

Just my thoughts.

I wasn't a big fan of small blades too till I got a Ladybug. I like it better than the Kiwi because of the blade shape, and I like it better than the Kopa because of the light-weight and rugged (and also cost-effective) FRN. The only thing that I like about the Kopa and the Kiwi better is the VG-10 steel for the edge-holding ability. I am kinda amazed that for its blade-length, it does serve my daily cutting task very well, though.

I found that I used my 'bug a lot for cutting fibre tape - the packing tape with the glass strands in it for strength - so it actually dulled pretty quickly. Doesn't take much knife to cut tape, but it takes a lot of hardness to stay sharp doing it with that stuff. I guess it's just a what kind of use you put it to thing!

AGRussell makes a small VG10 keychain knife. No hole though. I like the ergonomics of the Jester infinitely more than the Ladybug.

I'm with Spyderknut on the Jester. I know the Jester looks a wee bit stranger than the Ladybug, but I love the Jester. Great ergos, great overall design!

I am no longer a big fan of the AG Russell knife. Way too damn small and the spring sucks.

yes, a VG10 jester would be sweet, even more with SS scales! I'd buy one if it's not too pricey, if it's done.

Ladybug is not one I'd use, think the Jester is head and shoulders above it, but if Sal made one in VG10, I'd buy one in PE, just to have. Now a PE VG10 FRN Jester , on the other hand, might just replace the micarta one that keeps my keys company.

Jester's nice but personally I like the Ladybug better because of the pointy tip and its blade shape. Makes it an instant claw when holding it with the index and middle fingers (a very comfortable way to hold it when opening boxes, also makes a good emergency SD tool, as well.) Not to mention it looks good when paired up with the Delica, too. Yup I am carrying both of them together now - Ladybug in the watch pocket always.

LOL

I always liked to do that... my pair was a Ladybug II and an Assist (the one with the sheepsfoot). Baby & Mommy.

(Pulls out Ladybug II)
"Is this too big a cut for the itty bitty knife? That's OK..."

(pulls assist out of other pocket)
"Come to Momma"

Well, come to think of it, I only ever did that once. The reaction was a keeper, but not something I wanted to make a habit of replicating!

I like blue the best, but I would buy it in any color if you put a high-end steel in it!

Something different would be nice. Maybe beige-tan

Purple with little blue dots, but I'll settle *very*happily* for just about anything. Hot pink would be a little hard, but any of the greens and blues would be fine.

Black, grey, green, blue are all winners in my book!
