Any Cigar Smokers Out There?

I love Tobacco Road up on Cooper in Arlington. They also give 10% on purchases off for military, LEO, fire, and medical, so I like to give them my business. I use to be in Arlington all the time going to UTA, but now I find myself there less often. I have a buddy on my fire department with me who speaks worlds about Pop's Safari Room in Fort Worth, but it's a mix of cigar shop, wine shop, and bistro. Good place to hang out and smoke.

My favorite everyday smoke is still Rocky Patel Vintage 1990.

Bitter, I'll go ahead and suggest Rocky Patel Vintage 1999. They have a nice Connecticut wrapper and are available at many shops.

That's not far from me! I'm gonna have to check it out. It's about the same distance I drive to smokes etc. anyway.

Tobacco Road is on the left hand side if you are headed north. Pipes are downstairs and cigars are up. Make sure you see the second walk in humidor... Since I didn't even know it was there my first few times! You are also welcome to hang out there and smoke what you just bought.

I'll have to check out Tobacco Road next time I'm in Arlington. Its a pain living out in the edge of sprawl sometimes. A tobacco shop recently opened down the road a bit and I'll have to scope them out. Thanks for the recommendations. Any craft beer drinkers out there that can point me in the way of what styles might pair well with cigars?

Texas seems to have hijacked the thread a bit. I would be interested in a meet up at some point. it would let me pick some brains on both sticks and steel :-)

I have smoked a lot of different cigars over the years. From 1930's Cubans, to small cigars made for the Shaw of Iran ( Reza Pahlavi), and most all the major better brand names.

My current favorite cigar is called a Virgin Island Rum. It is made on St. Johns, and only sold in two stores on St. John's/St. Thomas. The name makes you think of cheap cigars, but the flavor and smokability is amazing. It has no burn or sharp taste, but has lots of flavor and taste notes. Each is sealed in a glass tube. I was having the guy who makes them ship them to me, but apparently there is now an exclusive contract, and I have to get someone who is going to the islands on vacation to bring back a couple of boxes for me and my friend.

I have been given a contact number to have them shipped in bulk. If it works out, I'll let you guys know.

Other than VI Rums, I like a good Romeo and Julietta.

Those who come to the Ashokan conference in the fall know that I bring up a big box of cigars and set them out Saturday for a BBQ, cheese, and cigars evening. Some other beverages have been known to show up, too :)

Here's one of my favorite morning cigars with a cup of fresh ground coffee.

Por Larranag Petit Corona with my WIP #2 in the background.

My favorite is Padron Serie 1926- expensive but excellent.

For a quick cigar ElRey Del Mundo. Probably the nicest small cigar I have tried. I like them a lot more than the Cohibas or the like.

Gurkha black dragon is good- spicy if you like that.

I tend to buy the Nicaraguan cigars, as for the price, you get 95% of the flavour for 1/2 to 2/3 the price. The Nicaraguans with the camaroon wrap are really quite nice.

CAO has some nice ones in their box sets. I had a great CAO America recently.

All go nicely with a better single malt. Try the Longmorn, or Ballevine Double Wood. The older the better.

For those without a good smoke shop nearby, try cigarplace.biz. We are taxed through the nose here ion Canada, so I tend to have mine shipped in. I buy a couple hundred bucks at a time 2 or maybe three times per year.

Dang Stacy! How much do those run a stick?

what's a hammer in?

Picked up a Helix from a local shop with marginal selection. I'm not expecting much out of it.

Like a group hangout with forging demos. Really where knife makers and lovers alike hang out more or less

I like the pic! I'm gonna have to post one with my next stick.

The Virgin Island Rum cigars sell for around $9. I have not called the number yet, but the info that was passed on to me was that I can get 50 tubes shipped for $5 each.

I had to go grab a few sticks from the local shop to make it thru till my online order gets here. Trying the onyx reserve

The Ashton VSG is also a favorite of mine , it is a great full bodied cigar, quality all the way.
My favorite cigars lately have been Arturo Fuentes. Almost any of the Arturo Fuentes line is a good smoke. I like the Arturo Fuente Sungrown wrapper cigars as it has a bit of a fuller body to it.

I saw the Arturo Fuentes line. Ill have to grab a few next time. I smoked one of the Drew Estate Naturals today, man that sucker was awesome! Really smooth tasty little stick!!

Here is a picture of my humidor, i enjoy an occasional cigar :)

I like most of the lines from Avo, Padron and Ashton.

Daaaang!!! That's a nice sized humidor! I'm jealous man that thing is awesome. I just have two 30-40 stick humidors. How many will yours hold? Like 1000?

that might be the understatement of the year. I think that might be larger than my first apartment. Wow, that is beautiful and by the looks of it well stocked. Really wishing Texas wasn't so far from new Hampshire :D
