Any love watches like they love knives????

I also like stuff with a sense of mechanical precision:

I'd love an IWC sport watch, but my pocketbook won't cooperate!

yeedude,

WOW! An Omega SMP with a couple of Sebenzas...SWEET!!

Anybody else have some more cool scans?? I'd try, but I'm " 'puter illiterate"

WATCH: breitling seadweller...makes the rolex submariner and like rolexes look wimpy i prefer it over the two rolexes i own
costs much less..better made..doesnt attract the attention a rolex does
BACKUP WATCH:luminox all black seal...love that tritium
KNIFE: large sebenza or a small sebenza
depending on casual or dress occasion
PEN: tombo rollerball...inexpensive and
writes better than any of my mont
blancs,lamy's,pelikans, or watermans

Thanks for the "wow's", guys! I've really been working hard on my scanning and image processing.

For MrG, or anyone else who might be interested, here's a link to a comparison/review that I posted over at Knifenut Forums where I compared and reviewed the Classic 2000 Large Sebenza. [BTW, the site is based in Taiwan and so many of the posts and replies are in Chinese - there's nothin' wrong with your browser!

Here's a scan that I'm pretty happy with the results of. Whaddaya guys think?

Oh, to get back on topic

, I use a Lamy 'Swift' rollerball for day-to-day use and I kind of want a Jorg Hysek carbon-fiber rollerball.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who sees the Microtec/Luminox as a great 'thrasher' watch!

yeedude -- Nice .45! What are the specs?

Mr. G: Have had trouble finding those Citizen reviews. Are they under Mr. G on those forums as well? You don't have a direct link, do you? Sorry, I am probably just stupid.

Re: Pens: My favourite, a Fisher CH4, is currently AWOL. I just got one of the classic astronaut pens for my future father-in-law, and I like the CH4 better and it is less than half the price! It just feels sturdier.

Well hey hey CD Fleischer!!

Tried to post a link to my reviews of the Citizen EcoDrive chronograph, but alas, no such luck.

If you go to www.watchzone.net and then click on watch reviews, you can click on an alphabetical watch reviews listing. Scroll on down to Citizen, and you'll see a link for a Citizen EcoDrive Chronograph in titanium. That should be me.

Same thing with www.timezone.com Be advised, both reviews are extremely whimsical...

Oh yeah, knives. Thinking of getting an Oris BC3 to match my Hossom Millennium Black Fighter. What do you think??

Great scan! Have an America'a Cup SeaMonster myself. What camera did you use for the scan?

Rayskin wallet - nice choice.

I wish this subject had not been started, it just forced me over to Time Zone.com where I bought 2 near mint Oris watches. Aint life grand!!

I have been recently bitten by the watch bug. I love my Marathon SAR.

I believe that people who are true knife and watch collectors share the same affliction, namely a futile quest and craving for absolute perfection. Its the joy and satisfaction of using an object with superb engineering, fit and finish that we chase, and this appreciation for objects of extreme precision lends itself well to the collection of both knives and watches. Now, this theory applies more to auto watches and high-end custom knives, each offers, or teases us with the promise of perfection and precision, neither can be actually perfect, but they come awfully close and satisfy, better than most things, our endless quest and craving for extreme precision and near perfection. Having said that, i wear a Sinn EZM3 and a knife that i think is about as close as you get to technical perfection is a CR Sebenza. The Sebenza may not have the beautiful materials, or the look of a fine custom knife, but it does offer near perfection. There are many high end customs i would rather have than a Sebenza, but as far as engineering, fit and finish, you really can't beat the Sebenza.

I sure like my EZM3, seems to have climbed to the top of my EDW list.

Oh boy......look at my profile and you will see that I am an absolute watch, knife and pen KNUT.

It drives my wife crazy and the avegare person cannot identify. Just like you wear different clothes for different occasions, so your paraphernalia/gear should also include some variety. Watches are far more expensive than knives, so it's a tough one.

I have the following watches:

-18ct gold Rolex with President bracelet ( I have since sold this one)
-Raymond Weil
-Seiko 150 Sport Chrono
-Casio Yachtmaster
-Casio G-Shock Wademan 200m/660ft ( for the great outdoors)
-Guess G3 Alarm Chrono 200m/660ft (Every Day Wear)
-Selection
-Tissot digital

The Pen I carry every day is a Waterman Carene Fountain pen.

The knives I carry are a CRKT Polkowski Kasper Companion and a CRKT Ryan 7 folder and a small Wasp pocket lock back. Oh and my Victorinox SwissChamp of course.

My next knife will be a Benchmade 710 or AFCK, my next watch will be an automatic diver's watch either the big Omega or the Breitling even the Emergency looks fantastic. Maybe even a Rolex Sea Dweller. I am a Rolex fan though....need to save up some more. My next pen will be a Waterman Edson fountain pen and a Fisher Space Pen - The black Bullet.

Wow I always thought my seikos were cool:eek: :D

Since I'm more and more in the office everyday is a seiko chrono had it for 7 yrs as my promotion gift and it is a nice big watch

When I go out in the field, change to a trusty timex; presently an Ironman but whatever happens to be on sale at walmart. If it breaks or gets broken no sweat ( go through at leat 1 /year). Sometimes end up going out fast with the Seiko chrono on,but like a nice high end production knife it holds up to some wear&tear as any quality item should.

Dress mtgs, taking the better half out to prove I still have some $$$ left and didn't buy only knives -
Nice dress seiko aboy 3 yrs old

But those Sinn watches ... must resist...

:D :) :D

I guess there's a lot of truth to the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

Despite the recent persistent rumblings from a certain sub-set of the 'horological intelligentsia' who now accuse Rolex of having employed cost cutting techniques in the production of certain of their models, you can rest assured that the Submariner and Sea Dweller are not among them. Certainly there are watches out there today that rival the Submariner in terms of ruggedness and durability, but to my knowledge, none of them wear the Breitling label.

I'm a watchnut too and have been for quite a long time. Not that I have a large collection, since I am mostly a "user" of watches just as I am a user of knives.
My EDV watch is a four years old Fortis Pilot Automatic. I have a 1967 Omega Speedmaster Professional and a 1969 Omega Seamaster De Ville for "dressier" occasions (I am mostly into vintage watches) and a terribly abused Adidas digital thingy for the woods, be it on foot or on the MTB!

A Sinn EZM3...Tactical Timepiece!!

Very nice Steve. I have been looking at the EZM3 for a couple of months. I have a Rolex Explorer II (white face) that has been a great watch that I have worn daily for nearly ten years.

Day carry is a Benchmade 9050 SBT. I've had three or four of them.

I have several watches but my favorites are the Explorer II, Casio Wademan (big ass watch) and my great grandfather's old Gruen pocketwatch I was lucky enough to inherit.

Strange but cool thread!
