Any More Sarge-7's Get Delivered Today?

Just picked up 7 at the post office. Thanks for all involved. My 1st bought Busse, have others through trade, definitely won't be my last. I didn't ask for 7 but seems fitting in several ways.

I dunno if this makes me a creep, but I'll give you my #4 for your 666!

Nasty hogses . . . want to take my precioussss.....

;)

Seriously -- thanks for the tempting offer, but I think I'll hang on to it. Clearly, I'll have to nickname it "the Beast" and play Iron Maiden while sharpening it.

Got home from a few days out of town to see a package waiting outside my doorstep. Yes indeed - Sarge #50 - in all it's glory. This thing is insanely sharp and feels great in the hand. Being my first Busse, it looks so damn good that I don't want to mark it at all, but I didn't spend that much money to just look at it. I'm going camping this weekend and plan to give it a solid workout. Unfortunately I didn't opt for the sheath but I wish I did now since this thing is terrifyingly sharp. I really want a leather belt sheath for it instead of the kydex. Any recommendations?

I received my SE a couple hours ago, and it's MUCH bigger and badder than I thought it would be, but it's also my first Busse so I don't have a comparison knife. I can't imagine how stout the bigger blades like the FSH and Mistress are. The Kydex is a much harder material than I thought it would be, I'm actually concerned about scratching the satin finish if I use it... are they easily scratched by Kydex sheaths?

you can't use that satin finish SE if you don't want to scratch it. as for the sheath that model has clearance built into it and locks up on the handle. your knife was fitting to it's sheath and was inspected and shipped scratch free. some makers sheaths are tighter and some looser but dirty kydex will scratch your knife as well as dirty leather.

my advice is not to worry about it. keep your knife clean and you can run water down your sheath to clean it too. use a large pipe cleaner or a ruler wrapped with a light towel to knock out the dirt.

now as for your satin blade I'll tell you what i do but please try to keep it a secret.
get some green sheets of scotch bright, they make them pretty big, like 8x10"
clean your blade with good old regular gasoline along with the handle.
now with the scotch bright on the counter, wipe your blade from spine to edge light or heavy, however you like.
spine to edge, just like the final polish or grinding was done.
light scratches are easy, heavy ones take more pressure and longer.

after you get good and tired of babying your user then go use it and stop worrying about how it looks.
again, for sap, pitch and that stuff just use gas, diesel or lighter fluid to clean the whole damned knife.
soap and water for blood.

a word of caution!!! zombie blood is not to be messed with, unlike in the movies you don't want this walking dead smelly corpuscle crap splattered in your face or in a cut. keep it out of your sheath.

or before you know it you'll be stumbling around, dragging one foot and mumbling 'brains, Brains, I WANT BRAINS'
no joke, not funny, i'm serious about this stuff.....

i ALWAYS buy a pair and a spare....

oh! one other thing, i do buy both a leather sheath and one of kydex for all my user knives.
i do a lot of activities around water so for me kydex is a must, and i like leather in the woods because its quieter and kind of traditional.
so one of each is a nice way to go for your favorite user!

Well, I have to say I agree with idahoskunk on the zombie stuff... better safe than sorry guys. I recommend a quick double tap to the head with a 1911 rather than foul up my new Sarge's blade with that crap! Next thing you know, the adrenalin wears off and I forgot to clean my blade.... start cutting a nice steak up..... all downhill from there.

On a lighter note (pun intended) I did receive my Sarge today and I'm inpressed. Very nice ergo's, very nice weight and overall - simply awesome. This is the knife i've been waiting for. I look forward to using it more soon. Mine fits in my large spec ops perfectly btw. It's hard to describe the feel of this knife. It is light, but not too light. It still feels like your holding a large blade, but it's not overbearing. I chopped up a bunch of thumb sized branches tonight after dinner and it went through them in one swipe without too much real effort - very nice balance others are speaking about. If they're still available in the store, I would do yourself a favor and pick one up. You wont be dissapointed.

Now for more steak...

Glad the knife made it to you. Congrats on a great score. If you get a chance snap a few pics of the new knife being used.

I'll probably be out in the woods this weekend. Of course I'll be using my new knife so I'll get some pics and post em up.

ah crap, i think you broke my infi will. I like the od/green. Sent an email to Pokey, we will see what news she has. Just got a HogMukLE so this would go slick.

Well, I have to say that I love my SARGE sisters... I seriously think the SARGE is my new favorite knife, and I plan to put one in my BOB. I love the feel and design so much I bought 2 of them. (actually, I am not sorry to say that I am considering a 3rd as well...)

The only thing I noticed which I was not a fan of was that the point on my second SARGE (Red&Black G10) is not very well defined. I do not have nearly as many BUSSE's as most of the HOGs around here, but I have a decent overall knife collection and this did surprise me for being such an expensive blade. I actually stuck my finger pretty hard and caused "0 hit points" worth of damage. Check out the pics. It could be the way the convex grind is applied, but I am not sure. I just wanted to throw this out there to see if this is common or not. My other SARGE does not have a rounded tip profile. Either way, I love the thing and will have it taken from my cold dead hands. Or a zombies skull.
