Any news on the Para-Military 2?

What is the correct maker mark. The ones on Ebay have Sal's mark. The one in the youtube video appears to have Eric's mark. Just curious.
Edit: just watched the video again, both marks seem to be on the blade. Has this been done before?

M4/CF?????

BOINGGGG!!!!!!!! :D:D:D Gonna get me one of them if I see it quick enough :)

This Para2! Boy, it seems to have turned out just about right. All the pains worthwhile. Looks lovely, and I must admit to having had more than a pang of anxiety when I heard it was in the pipeline

These are all g10 and s30v.

The one talked about that's CF is going to be a sprint run, and it won't have m4 steel, it's going to have that carpenter steel that's supposed to be like s90v

And how do we know this info is reliable?

I don't wish to come off like a ____ but I hate to have my hopes raised up for no reason.

No, it is a fair question. I pre-ordered mine from a Spyderco dealer. He said that he expected to receive Para 2s on Monday and that mine would ship then. I prefer not to list the dealer's name in case that the dealer has some obligation to Spyderco to keep such information confidential.

Summertime in Colorado, back from the SFO...

(sorry, no flash here at work)

Thanks. I hope I receive mine within the next two weeks as well. It looks like a number of photos are popping up with those who have gotten one at the SFO.

I can't wait. I've been lusting for a Para for over a year now. :D

So glad they decided to give lefty carry options for this one. I owned a Para 1 several years ago and had to have a custom lefty clip installed. Was just thinking about how I regretted getting rid of that knife the other day. The Para 2 will definately be a future purchase for me.

I posted this same question on the other forums. The Para's bought from SFO have both Sal's and Eric's marks. Spydieguy's on eBay have only Sal's mark.

I was thinking they might be a "1st Run", as he seemed to have them first. I'll post up when I find the answer.

I haven't been this stoked over a Folder in a long time. Man, I'm just chomping at the bit over here....

Looking forward to the Carp. steel version! went ahead and got on the list, not missing this one.

Here's a better shot of the clip:

First impressions:

First let me say that I don't own the Para 1. I do own a G-10 Military, and (I guess, not surprisingly) I find the Para 2 to be a mini Millie. Same texture on the G-10, same big handle/big blade "feel" as the bigger brother. Good, in other words, if you like the Millie. I do.

If you have a Tenacious, the blade size is very close to the Para 2, and the handle has more. Of everything. Grip, reach, shape. Everything except weight. The Para 2 is bigger overall, but weighs right about the same as the Tenacious.

I can't legally carry the Military in Colorado, but I'm rockin' the Para now. Well, after a tip-up clip move...

I like this knife a lot. It makes me want to go buy 4 more of the Tenacious now, and give them to my good friends because it is such a good value.

How is the pivot bushing? Are you able to tighten the pivot all the way and still have smooth action?

Somebody on the Spyderco forum told me that the collector's club models have only Sal's mark, but the regular production models have both. I don't know where they got their info but it makes sense.

Eric Glesser was kind enough to explain the issue of the designer logos on the new Para 2.

Thanks for the enthusiasm on the Para2. The forums feedback has been instrumental in the refinements made to this design and we’ll continue our CQI.

hi markg - Thanks for the feedback, I hope we’ll make you say “gee, I have changed my mind on the paramilitary 2.” I know we can’t win them all though, the original is a classic.
btw, the clip is just our standard hour glass clip from Japan.

hi SmoothOne25 – My dad has been known to give an autograph if asked, he’s not the snobby musician who pushes the fan aside. Though my father says, “man who beats on own chest, knocks self over.”

Speaking of beating on chests – the tags. Typically we put small tags on some of our favorite designs, but there’s been no science to it. Recently we’ve been adding tags to more and more designs because people do ask.

In this case the first few hundred had only my dad’s, after seeing this we put my tag on. I jumped at the opportunity to share space with his.

Then it got more complicated, after seeing the tags together we pushed my tag smaller and behind the hole. (together they seemed like too much) That’s how future production will be engraved. We certainly didn’t plan for this - apologies.:o

Damn! I'll have to find where i read about the m4

did you confuse it with the limited Ti/M4 Military that's coming out, but been delayed??

Actually, it might have been one of MY posts that confused you because I mentioned I'd probably want to trade my Ti/M4 military, for the CF/Carpenter steel PARA Military when that comes out.
