HEy guys, I was just wondering if anyone here goes campin and brings a firearm to shoot around with. I've been on a roll with my Ruger 10/22 and Herny AR 7.
Thanks in advance,
Eric

I'm a gunsmith and long time shooter. The Ruger 10/22 is a masterpiece! Ol' Bill Ruger knew what he was doing! Another favorite Ruger of mine is my MK!! with ten inch barrel, a real tack driver. I teach long range handgunning to local LEOs and often start out plinking with my two BFR 45-70 revolvers. I handload 405 grain semi jacketed, semi wads on top of 51 grains of IMR 4320 in these bears. When I let them both go at once, they do back me up about a half step. The BFRs also have ten inch barrels and are super accurate. Anyway, I plink from 22s to as big a handguns as I can get and love 'em all.

Did somebody say plinking :D

There was a time in my life that I would put a brick of .22lr through a Ruger Single-Six every week. We had a farm junkyard/dump off in the woods near the house. It was plinking heaven. If we weren´t there we were hunting groundhogs.

I don´t do much shooting in the bush when I´m back home but I always carry. IMO you aren´t having a proper adventure unless you have a sidearm. Mac

Going to pick up my new CZ452FS .22 that I ordered a week ago, I cant wait! taking ammo with me, I will be shooting this evening!

CZ452 Scout
10/22 stainless laminated/irons
10/22T Laminated/Nikon 1.5-4.5
Marlin 39 lever with Weaver K4

.22lr's are where fun is found :)

We don't really go "camping" but there are allways guns to plink with when we go to camp :) It's great to stay in practice. .22s alot , but the others get out quite a bit as well.

I just picked this up, and it's a ton of fun to shoot. I always have my 1911 with me in the woods, and usually bring my Savage .22 rifle to plink around with. This 22/45 will most likely be coming along with me instead!

I have a Ruger 10/22 that I like to shoot. I'd like to get a set pf peep sights for it if anybody makes them. I've never tried this type of sight, but a lot of folks like them.

I also have a .22 semi auto pistol that I absolutely hate. It's a Ram-Line Exactor that is now sold by Magnum Research as the Mountain Eagle with a few cosmetic changes. I can't hit a thing with it. My father has a Ruger Single Six that I love.

No plinking here, just serious shooting. :p

This is a S&W 5906 9 mm on a 150 meter turkey outing. The bowling pins patiently wait for a Dan Wesson 22 LR.

Love that peep sight! Who makes it and how does it attach if you please. Is it integral with the scope base? Kinda hard to tell. A close up pick of the right side of the sight and receiver might help me. Thanks.

I only use the one .22 ( top one in the second pic in my post above ) for now.A Remington 581. But if I can find a Marlin 39 A , it would round out that top pic perfectly
Lots of plinkers here :D

.

A couple of options:

http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/catsearch.aspx?k=Ruger+10/22&ps=10&si=True
( narrow search by sights or receiver sights were it says keyword)

http://www.xssights.com/store/rifle.html
( page seems to take forever to load up, lots of people love them though)
