Recommendation? Any Recommendation for $40-80 EDC Folders

I do interested in D2 CF,honestly

If you want D2/CF then allow me to suggest instead the Artisan Cutlery line which offers their knives in D2/CF for around $50-60. I own 5 of them, including the Shark which is my favorite (of the 5 that I own) and would be an excellent knife to carry/use as an EDC.

At the top of your range ($80) is the G-10 Massdrop Ferrum Forge Gent, built by WE. I have the more expensive carbon fiber version, and I would easily expect this knife to have been $200 at least.

Flipper on bearings, G-10 over titanium, CPM-S35VN. This knife kicked my $350 Bailey model 2 out of the number 1 spot.

For less than $80, look at Kershaw and some Spyderco's.

K.O.D.,
Thanks for the recommendation. I ordered a Massdrop x Ferrum Forge Gent S35VN today. It has everything I want in a discrete pocket knife and the blade grind looks far more useable than my current Osborne 943 which will be returned to Benchmade for burial as soon as it's replacement arrives.

Awesome!

One word of caution; You may or may not experience this, but I found out yesterday that after flipping it close to 300 times, if not more, the pivot screw started to get a bit loose. Blue loctite yesterday, and it's great now.

Being on bed rest mostly, I have to find ways to not go insane, and flipping/flicking my knives open and closed. You won't be disappointed by this knife. It's so lightweight it's silly.

I now want to get another Massdrop/WE collaboration like maybe the Terzuola. Gotta wait til my birfday in April.

I like the little Keyshaw Bare Knuckle frame lock that comes in just over $60.00. It’s probably not going to garner a lot of love here, but I’ve been using one at work every day and really dig it. Sure it’s not over built like my ZT’s, but it’s a solid, lightweight little flipper with good lockup. It is also easy to sharpen and maintain. Another frugal, yet great EDC is the SOG Mini and full sized Aegis. It’s an assisted opener, that’s lightweight, easy to sharpen, yet fairly durable. It’s AUS 8 steel isn’t going to win any edge retention awards, but I see a lot of these in guys pockets at work. I work with electricians, and they beat the hell out of their knives.

Right at the top of your price range, and since there was no mention of what sort of locking mechanism you prefer, I'll toss in a vote for a Manly Wasp slip joint folder in S90V. Very slicey. Solid knife for the price.

Maybe I missed it, but what is your primary use for the knife? What do expect out of it? Does it need to be a harder use workhorse? Does it need to be a certain size, or blade shape? There are so many decent knives in this price range, but there is also a lot of crap.

The Rat definitely seems to tic the D2/CF box for you, and it's a 'user' for sure. I have no experience with one, but it's reputation speaks for itself.

If you need something a bit more elegant, and 'people-friendly' it's tough to beat a Kershaw Leek. It's slim, lightweight, and office-friendly.... but it's not a hard user. Lots of color options, and a great EDC.

I'll throw another vote for the Steel Will Modus as well. Flips nice for its price range, and the blade shape is great (at least for me). The FRN scales aren't the most elegant, but the work well.

Any Spyderco in your price range is a good choice, as are most Kershaws. But it really boils down to what you expect out of a knife.

Thank you advise, Im not using knives that much, but I have fun to collecting some knives which have creativity looking for different money range such as Kershaw reverb, We, Spyderco tropen

Yet another vote for RAT II in D2,
Kershaw Atmos
Kershaw Dividend in M390
Steel Will Mini Intrigue

These are a few of my favorite things...

The only problem I have ever had with Kershaw's Leek was it on occasion prone to open by itself in my pocket. Yes, it has a safety lock but an inconvenient one. My three Leeks are gone.

Try the CRKT Cuatro; a fine bearing pivot flipper. Shape is really elegant IMHO.
