Any Ti-lock fans?

The blade locking and opening action is easy, but not as easy as the "OCD open/close constantly" knifeknuts would like it. However, it is truly ambidextrous, unlike any frame lock. There are many ways to open/close it one handed, it takes awhile to get the "muscle memory" going, but after a bit, the ti-lock closes and opens as easy as a sebenza or maybe easier since its ambidextrous. Within a week of using it daily, I was opening and closing it w/o difficulty. Never bit me once.

Except that it isn't ambidextrous when it comes to putting it in your pocket...right handers only.

I have 3 of them - the first is one of the 25 numbered prototypes.

The next one is the actual very first proto that was sent to Blade Magazine for the cover years ago- On one of my visits to Boise, I pried that baby right out of Chris's private stash and paid him enough for him to get satellite service and an entertainment system at his weekend retreat. (Anne can attest to this).

The last one is what I carry in my rotation as it is just a great all around knife and one that I use for serious cutting and previously used to use it for work around the old house- but now that I am a renter in Florida I don't work around any house any more cuz when something needs a-fixing or work done outdoors I just sit back and watch the landlord do it.

During these happy relaxing times I take out one of my pre 2000 large regular sebenzas and knifesturbate accordingly.

Could I bother you for a picture of one of the photos, sir? I really liked my Ti-lock the whole week I had it before it was sent back to CRK for repair. The collector in me would love to see a proto Ti-Lock.

No problem - email me thru the website and I will get it done for you.

I am a fan. Although I don't have one yet, I have been wanting one for a while. Reading threads like this one reiterate this for me. For me, the Ti-lock is like a splinter in my mind (Matrix reference) that I keep coming back to. I'd REALLY like a blue steam version, even a used one.

I wish I could handle one to see if I like it before I buy one, but there are no retail CRK places anywhere near me.:(

I tried to be a fan. Another member on this forum, wtlj, loaned me ti lock for a couple of days to try it out.

I only took me a minute to find out the scale isn't long enough. I didn't have enough for all of my little finger

on the scale. I liked the knife, but it's just too small.

That's precisely my concern. I fear I would end up selling it or returning it. My little finger has to have room on the handle as well. Anything less than a Zaan or large 21 is too small for me to EDC.

I wish the Ti-Lock (and the Mnandi) was the size of my Zaan. :(

I bought one of these guys, and really enjoy it, particularly the amount of blade relative to the handle. The clip is about the only thing I don't care for. Seems not to match the knife that well. But it's not awful.

If anybody's curious, I did a video review on YouTube, which compares it with a few more well-known knives.

I've yet to pick one up, and will likely hold off until the Canadian dollar gains some strength again, but the knife continues to intrigue me.

I'm awaiting my new Blue Steam version this coming week. A friend of mine kept bugging me to sell him my other plain version for a year or so, and I gave in. Soon after, of course, I started craving another. Finally the wait is over.
These are fantastic EDC folders. Just about anything you can throw at it cutting wise, it can handle. I was able to whittle a large walking stick with my last. So any fears of the knife lock strength not being there is unfounded. The Ti Lock works, such as all CRKs.

I loved the size and blade shape of the TiLock. I just didn't care for the design features that made it a TiLock - the lock & clip. I sold mine after a short time and had trouble finding a buyer at $375 and LNIB condition. The market seemed saturated at the moment with used blades but has come back a little for these guys.

More love. Here are some from my thread recently.
First pic is when I got it in july and the others are now. Obviously. ;)

Only CRK I have is an Umnumzaan, and I carry it all the time as it melts in my pocket and absolutely love it! I wanted to get a small 21 next for a lighter carry, but then the ti-lock caught my eye.

How do you like your Ti-locks? Also I would love to see pictures of yours.

I am very new to CRK knives but what started the appeal was the TiLock; I had never seen a knife with such a great design, my first thought was "what an awesome looking blade", and it is; everything the guys have said above is true regarding lock, blade to handle ratio, cutting performance, ease of use, etc, etc. I have two, the regular one and the Blue Steam version, and I will eventually get the new version, which I think totally rocks. The lock is a very ingenious design and it is extremely strong, plus it is in a class by itself, the whole thing is awesome, the colors are pure bliss in my eyes; plus I love the pocket clip; there is not a single thing I don't like about this knife.

If you want to see pictures, there are a ton here in the forum, just do a search for it; but I recommend you take a look at this post by Kid Congo:

I hope I did it right and the link works, but if not, search for Ti Lock A Photo Assay, by Kid Congo.

I don't think I can do better than him at explaining the wonders of this blade. Anyway, I don't think you would be disappointed by getting one, regardless of the price; they are pricey but they are worth every penny, I think.
Good luck.

While I was typing all of the above, Mr Bella posted those very cool pics of his Blue Steam, thank you Sir; I was too lazy to take some pics or look for the ones I already have. Nice shots, by the way!

Well I had to preorder this. Holy cow!!!
