I got by for 39 years using my slimline trapper for everything. I just carry 2 or 3 single blades at one time now as I became more knife-nutty in the last two years. My AGR lockback Barlow, #23 GEC and larger OHO depending on where I'm headed.

A single-blade lockback folder is in my right hand pants pocket, where I can access the knife easily and and open it one-handed. My Victorinox Spartan swiss army knife is always on a sheath on my belt.

interesting picture and information. Does your picture have a source that has more information on what artifacts were recovered? I am referring, of course, to the 1856 steamboat sinking.

I voted no preference. While I guess I would prefer a single blade knife if I knew what tasks were in store for me - a single blade for food prep is fine, or for work is fine, meaning I'd carry 2 knives - I found that I don't really like carrying 2 knives. I still want blades for the 2 types of tasks I use a knife for so I'll carry a 2 blade knife. I prefer the look and feel of a single blade knife but want the utility of a 2 blade knife. I try to carry and use jacks or pen knives now where one blade isn't annoying when using the other.

I have always preferred a two blade jack knife, but over the past year have been enjoying the utility of the stockman pattern. Except for a couple moderns, I only have two single blade knives, and the Vic is not a carry knife.

I have no preference, my favorite patterns include some of both. Sometimes single is nice because they carry so well, sometimes multi is better because of their versatility.

I voted multi-blade, but my true preference is two blades, one spring.

I know single blades are very traditional, but to me, one great advantage a traditional can have over a modern folder is the multiple blades. Two blades on one spring gives me the best of both worlds. White Owls, Conductors, Halfwhitts, Half Congress, pens, etc...

My preference is for knives with two blades, but most of my customs have a single blade.

I like a multi-blade over a single blade by a tiny bit. Considering I've been carrying a muskrat pattern a lot lately, I guess I like two of the same :D I always carry multiple knives too, I must be a knife nut!

I accidentally ticked of single blade, but then again some of my favorite knives are single bladed. There are a few patterns that I actually preferred the multi blade version, the GEC Powderhorn being a prime example. The single blade version just felt thin, and the Jack version has a more satisfying feel to my hand.

I like them both, but I generally prefer a single blade for ease of carry. Another benefit of a single blade for me is that they are usually easier to pinch open than their multi bladed counterparts

I prefer a single blade by far. I do carry two blade jacks occasionally but almost never carry anything with greater than 2 blades.

Multi-blade knives for me, 2-blade jacks are my favorite. I find it more useful to have different size blades: smaller for most tasks, longer for cutting apples & oranges.

I love 3-bladed Stockman patterns and 2-bladed Jacks. I've got several 1-bladed knives that I carry and use, but the multi-blades are my favorite.

No preference. Only ever had one multiblade slipjoint, my jack knife, and I love it, the second blade is useful, and a good assurance of a sharp blade if I manage to dull the first one it's nnice to know there's a second one on hand if I don't have time to stop and sharpen. Not essential though, I get by more than fine with my sodbuster or Opinel.

I voted no preference. Both types are appealing to me. One blade is plenty for my daily uses, but it's also nice to have a selection to pick from if there are more.

I started out with pen knives, like the Buck 309, but since I purchased the 302, I've been really on a single blade kick. The comfort and clean looks of the single blade have me smitten. I always have my Vic Classic on my keys, so that gets to do dirty jobs involving tape. A narrow blade between 2.5 to 3 inches is all around handy, and is easy to choke up on for fine jobs.

I voted for single blades, but I prefer multi bladed knives at times. Sometimes I just feel the need to have two blades that are in one neat package!
