I voted no preference. I love both and carry both every other day or so. Whatever strikes my mood for the day is what I grab!

I like a 3 bladed stockman. I keep the clip point and sheepsfoot sharp for slicing and detailed cuts. And the spey blade I use for scraping. It's usually my secondary knife to a modern folder but today it reigned supreme!

I have and have have carried both. I currently prefer a single bladed knife. A case copperlock. I dont really like the pattern, but I like how slim it is, and it was given to me. I have an old timer stockman that i really like, and have carried. I've carried mostly stockmans. I find though, that with a 3 bladed knife, i tend to neglect the blade's edges until they are all 3 dull, then have a long sharpening session ahead of me. With a single bladed knife, i tend to sharpen it up as needed after a day of usage, so that it will be sharp the next day. This makes for easier maintenance.

Most that I have are multi bladed, but I do have single bladed ones as well.

I had owned, and miss :(, a GEC Gepetto whittler, and this past week as things turned out, I have a single blade Hounds Tooth wharncliff inbound, which I take to have the same frame, and with just the one blade, the handle should feel better when using than having the other two blades protruding up from the frame, although they didn't come up too much, but it was still not the flowing grip that I think the Hounds Tooth will provide, fingers crossed ;)

I prefer a med/lrg two bladed jack. Preferably a clip with a pen in front
