Anybody use the tw 90 Wuertz grinder

WOW I just finished watching the video's and that looks like an amazing grinder, I think I started getting a little misty when I seen the surface grinding attachment ;0) sure beats a welding magnet and a horizontal platen on my home made grinder.

This grinder is just plain awesome. I have yet to add the surface attachment but will do so soon.

I know Travis recommends running the small wheels at a slow speed because the little bearings are going so fast. I'm wondering how slow they should be run? I've been running at 25% on the 1/2" wheel, and I'm wondering if this is too fast, or can I speed it up some? Also, those that have the TW90, what do you use for slack belt? I've been using the top of the belt before the flat platen, but would prefer the length and slack provided by the small wheel attachment. Perhaps I'll get a 2" wheel for the small wheel so I can run it at full speed and get that big slack area. Your suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Jess

I use my small wheel attachment for the slack portion. I do not run it overly fast as I have no reason to. Only thing I turn my machine up high for is profiling and initial grinding. When I am using the slck feature it is usually for handle work so I prefer it on the slow side.

Hi,
there is an adaptor for mount the surface grinder attachment to a KMG ?
Thanks
Fausto

I doubt the surface grinder would work very well on a KMG.

The TW90 tilts 90* to use the surfacing attachment. I think it would be a headache to use vertically. Could possibly be done, but I know Travis would give you an honest answer about viability.

I run the little wheels at 30, not too tight on the belt.

The slack at the top, between the tension wheel and either the 8" wheel (more slack) or the flat platen (not as much slack, but it's a much better position for grinding) is much more usable in reverse.

A reverse switch is about $20, and takes next to nothing to install yourself. I wouldn't use the top of the belt without it. I mean, it's the difference between eating all the sparks, or having none to worry about.

Travis had some slight modifications for a KMG style grinder on youtube.
