Anybody use the tw 90 Wuertz grinder

Holy @%$# that's expensive...

I'm not trying to discount how truly innovative it is, and I'm sure it's of highest quality.... but I can buy a dedicated surface grinder for less than that. It'll be used of course...

That sad part is, I'll still probably save up for the TW-90 and this attachment. It'll just be about 10 years before I get done saving.

Nothing about this grinder is cheap. it is however.......absolutely amazing!!!!!

I could BUY a cheap used grinder, but I don't have a place to put it. I do have a place to put this attachment. I'm looking forward to it.

Platen tilting? I don't think I understand. The tool rest tilts, if that's what you meant. Also, the whole machine tilts 90*, so you can use the platen horizontally.

The arm with the platen adjusts in a few ways. I know it will accept a ceramic platen glued to the original- one thing I plan to do.

There just aren't very many things this grinder can't do. It's kind of like a big tinker toy. Your imagination is the only limit.

Tilting from top to bottom like the KMG. Does the platen plate need to remain vertical? With the KMG it looks like you can loosen two bolts and tilt the top of the platen back towards the rear of the grinder. Does the TW 90 do that too?

it will NOT tilt as simple as the KMG. Just by loosening the two nuts it will pivot 10 degrees either forward or back. if you use the different slots provided in the platen you can achieve a greater angle as some like to use. Not as simple as KMG but can easily be done. i sold my KMG for this machine and it is absolutely in a league of it's own!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm ordering mine as soon as Travis gets back to me with payment info. I'm looking forward to it!

Congrat's. Travis is a super guy to buy from and his grinder is amazing! You will love it.

I can't wait any longer. Sold the old Bader II. Ordering my TW90 today. Watching others enjoy theirs is just too much to bear.

I'll third Bill Burke's motion: Travis is a great guy. I've known him since he was just a pup...know the whole family...couldn't be more happy for his success.

Cheers!
Mike

There seems to be new pics up

Lots of light and well lit with good angles.

( not zoomable - and sometimes a bit out of focus
The door is well focused - could do with making the aperture smaller for more depth of field focus)

But the best pics so far.

It's as close as I'll get to one.

Picked up All the machined Parts for Surface Grinding Attachments, SGA's. On to refining my assembly process and new videos.

Tim Hancock came by my shop last week and brought his surface grinding attachment. Oh man, this thing is so much more than just a sga. He showed me a bunch of cool tricks, can't wait to get mine. :)

Mike,

Since several of us are waiting impatiently for the SGA, do you mind sharing any of those tricks?

Have any of you guys heard back from Travis?? no doubt he is swamped, but i emailed him asking to be
put down for a sga,and never heard back?

Well, I'd like to share but don't want to step on anyone's toes. Travis will be coming out with video's showing the other things that it can be used for. Patience, Travis is a very busy man.

I didn't mean for the initial post to be a tease. Ha, who am I kidding, sure I did. :p;)

He already has videos demonstrating the SG attachment as a way to taper a tang.

Is that what you are referring to, or is is more than that?
