That's true....like what we collect are "JUST" knives.
They are very well-made precious metal beads that transcend "JUST" the knife community's attention and desire.

Let me clarify. My punctuation was on "beads", not "just".
My point was that I find knives to be worth more than beads, because I cannot for the life of me see how a bead can help save my life.
I am a survivalist, and jewelry just isn't my thing.
Having said that, I do appreciate good design and impeccable fit and finish.
If people find that spending hundreds on precious metals makes them feel precious, fine by me, but I was pointing out that one's sense of self-value always comes from within, and not even the most finely crafted bead will change that.
