Anyone been with any strippers lately?

Light and handy it was (the 711)

Interesting knife to strip, BTW. Underneath the coating, on the flats only, is something that looks like black paint, not sure what exactly. Not decarb, it clearly spilled over on the spine when it was applied.

I kind of like the final dual tone.

my guess is that it's some sort of primer for the coating to stick to.

🤷‍♂️

Might smooth out the imperfections or hardness tests too, etc... maybe SR77 need primer. I can tell you that citristrip sitting on a Mil Regulator for just a while makes the coating peel off clean like a mandarin orange leaving shiny polished steel under. Other knives are tough to get clean.

It looks good, Hit it with a Scotch-Brite wheel if you want it a little more of a comp / satin finish...

No tish, I think that is the best looking SYKCO I have seen in years. I thought I was all about Regulators and Team Gemini's at this point dammit.

Don't know. There are some heavy "chatter zig-zags" on the SOD's one side, that the black coating hides pretty well. And there was no coating on the primary bevels. Maybe they coated before machining the bevel ? Have stripped an SR77 MMD before and there was nothing like this. And the DS6 above stripped off cleanly, BTW, just the typical Decarb left that I buffed off with 320 buffing drill attachments. I like it a little matte as it is.

A Son of Dogfather bowie tip would be sick too. That thing looks so much better than a regular DS6.

Eucalyptus that had to come down after Ian gave it a permanent lean toward my house. Comically easy to cut but man does that sap give sr101 some color.
thought it would have to be something sappy.

looks like you breezed right through that one.
