I've ordered from them more than once only to find out that the number that is supposed to represent # of knives in stock, is not correct.
The first time it was a surprise to find out the knife was not actually in stock. The second time not so much.

Tom is solid. If you want to be sure about stock numbers, email him first and inquire.

They had my hest in stock and and shipping was fast. I would definately buy from them again.

+1 for Chestnut Ridge. Ordered an ESEE-6 a few weeks ago and it was in my hot little hands a few days later.

i bought a couple of knives from them. fast shipping and friendly - i had a question on handle bolts awhile back. if this is in regards to esee knives in stock, you might want to call them first before ordering though. their website's stock isn't up to date.

I have purchased 5 knives total from them. Two for myself and three for my son before he deployed to Iraq. I have also spoken with the owner a couple of times at a gun show in King of Prussia, PA. He seemed to be a good guy. In fact he gave me some accessories for my son would not except payment.

When I have the funds to purchase more of my favorite knives I will be calling Chestnut Ridge Knife again.

Best of luck.
Don

Sorry to be the black sheep here, but I'll never order from them again. Here's the situation so far...http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=824793

As it is right now I still don't have the order, It has been shipped, and I have the tracking #. I do realize that once it leaves their hands, they have no control over shipping time...but It's been a week and a half so it doesn't make me feel any better, when I'm still waiting.

When I did make the last call to them I tried to explain that I'm not satisfied with their level of service concerning my order. But they made no effort to handle the situation, rather they handled me. Basically pushed me out the door...Yea yea well ship it right now...Whatever, sort of attitude. It was shipped that day, I'm still not satisfied, and I still don't have the order.

I've worked with Tom several times. He is a great guy.

I didn't read the thread about shipping. I have been caught in the "we shipped it" but "it hasn't been received" conundrum. It is a TOUGH place.

If I didn't get all my knives from my wife, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

i ordered an Izula kit from them when the Izulas first came out. their site said they had them in stock so i ordered one. turned out they were on backorder which was never specified. tried emailing them and got VERY slow response. knife eventually showed up but i was so disappointed i just returned it. not saying theyre bad,,,more than likely a bad case of miscommunication...i wouldve tried calling them but i live in Hawaii so business hours are way off the norm. all that being said i WOULD order from them again. poop happens :)

I've ordered a few knives from them, and they've always been great to deal with. The only knife that's been a bit rough getting through them is the Hest Folder, but I don't necessarily blame that on them. I'm sure many here know how "smoothly" Hest Folder production has been. Anyway, I'll continue to order through them.

I have bought a Izula sheath, and a kydex sheath for my RTAK duex through CRKS , and both were great experiences!

I've had three good transactions with them and two where the knives were not in stock. You would think that if the website showed 24 items in inventory they might actually have some in stock but that's not the case.

At this point in time they still owe me a knife I have already paid for. From now on I'm only buying from websites that update their inventory numbers.

I've ordered knives from them on 4, maybe 5 different occasions, the only thing I have had trouble with is the inventory issues mentioned before. Not sure if they even try to keep up with listed numbers or not. TOTAL SPECULATION, but think about it, if you listed "0" in stock on several knives, potential customers would simply move on to the next vendor. On the other hand, if you list "in stock" something that actually isn't, and when an order comes through try and get the item from your supplier and ship it out. It would eliminate the need to keep stock of items you didn't sell regularly.

As far as the "it shipped, but I never got it" thing. If every time someone made that claim the vendor shipped another knife, they might be giving away two for the price of one on a regular basis. Not everyone is honest, or a repeat customer.

All that said, I would order from them again, sorry for the rant...;)
