Anyone else carry inside the waistband?

Necessity is the mother of all invention.....?
If you look at the federal prison system, they rarely use clips on their knives, yet they carry them around , and use them effectively.

Maybe you could try those tactical strategies? 😳
 Not really where I was going with it, but you aren't wrong... I think I'll stick to the clip for the time being.. 🤣

How does a pistol iwb with no belt work?
I've got a few different holsters inside, depending on what I'm wearing and what gun. Kydex with ulti-clip, and a remora. The remora you just wedge in between your waistband, pants need to fit well. It also works well as a pocket holster for my P365X SAS.

I carry at 4 o'clock though, not a fan of appendix.

I do have a CB minituck for the Sig for the rare occasion I wear a belt.

I had a similar problem in the past. Most of my career was spent working in an outdoor environment where knives were totally normal but I spent about 5 years working in a 17 story bldg downtown full of non masculine types. I had to wear slacks and dressier shirts every day (sometimes including a jacket and tie). Being downtown and the parking garage a block away, there was a fair walk (sometimes at night) through some less than perfect conditions. Here was my solution.
I slipped this in my pocket with a piece (one single strand) of cord just long enough to stick out of my pocket and fold over the lip. It had a couple of wooden beads on it at the end to keep it in place outside the pocket. Nowadays I would probably have a fairly small cool (but not TOO cool) style titanium bead on it but nothing like that was available back then that I knew of. The knife is so thin that it makes no print (key in pic for thin comparison) and you could always claim it was your keys if someone got nosey. These days the knife has been retired and spends it days in my “retirement village” toolbox drawer. It never saw any real use but was easily accessible if the true need arose. Luckily it never did. Benchmade Emerson of some variety.

Haha..... I just wanted offer the creative fix I thought you were looking for.....?

It's Easy to find solutions, it's difficult to know if a problem exists.

Actually I do it somewhat frequently, especially in a case like abcdef talked about above when I'm wearing pocketless or loose-pocketed pants. Usually AIWB, right side. It's surprisingly easy to get to in such a situation, and it stays out of the way. I usually don't do it in regular life 'cause digging in one's waistband in everyday life is not really appropos. :)

I don't know, just doesn't look safe at all, especially with a tip up carry I can only imagine the knife partially opening due to a wonky detent and all the wiggling from a day's work and then --- "tip, meet meat"
If that will never happen in the history of knives then I'll just say I wouldn't want to be the recipient of a freak accident. I already have a stab wound scar in my right foot, that's enough for me

I don't really have any knives that would open on their own, especially in that tight of a space. There'd be a higher chance of a knife opening carried inside a pocket than here.

Also, I wear them between underwear and pants, not inside the underwear. ;-)

I only carry my Glock 26 IWB.

I carry the KOTD in my right front pants pocket, unless I'm camping/backpacking, in which case I may carry a knife in a sheath attached to my belt but I'll still carry a SAK in a pocket.

I do not, but I do keep a Benchmade Mini Onslaught around for the occasion that I may want to with an elastic waistband ever. I found that pocket clip to work particularly well with it. However I never do, partially because I rarely wear those, but also because the potential for accidental opening just doesn't sit right with me personally

When im in scrubs, I generally do not carry. However on my days off, yes its inside the waistband, crk on the right and 707 on the left.
yeah. people in the hospital get all weird about a knife. my gosh I went on a diving trip a long time ago in hawaii and they got all weird: "oh my gosh he has a knife!" jeez

I do not carry a pocket clip at work due to bad past experiences with an ex manager. I now use a knife very lowkey, usually a Cricket or a Chapparal, what I mostly need is a quick cut and done so that one hand opening is really needed, and if I have to cut a box I usually have something waved in the right pocket so, just pull out, cut and back in the pocket.

I don't wear a belt, unless absolutely necessary, and I also keep a pistol IWB so that's out for the knife. However, I do IWB a knife late at night on my way to the bathroom or kitchen in my underwear lol! Yes I'm well aware that I'm eccentric and ridiculous.

Ah, you are talking about Tactical Toilet Training. Er...I mean...I have no idea what you are talking about. It's never been proven that I've done any such thing.

My SOG Kiku is long and heavy and i carry it IWB if it’s carried, but if I’m going to IWB, it’s most likely going to be my DEK2 in the Kydex, very comfortable walking the dog and hardly noticeable at 4 o’clock on my waist. Wearing a fixed blade off the belt don’t often look ok is some places and if they don’t carry a knife, they don’t understand why anyone needs to. I like discreet carry, and my AD20 is in my front pocket, never use the clip with it. IMG_1316.jpeg

I pretty much have got to carry clipped into a pocket or in a belt pouch o sheath. Otherwise, my exdtra insulation lops over and binds.

I do not (ever) wear pants without pockets.

Back (way back) in the 1980s, I worked offshore in the Middle East. As a contractor, I could wear whatever I wanted for the most part. My work outfit typically consisted of jeans with a low-key western work shirt having two buttoned pockets.

Many of my co-workers were from Europe or the UK. Often one or another tried to buy one of my shirts or a pair of jeans . . .because back home, they were having trouble finding pants or shirts with pockets!

Even if I was slim enough to pull it off( which I am NOT), it looks pretty uncomfortable. Doesn't it cause chafing?
I usually carry my locking folders in my right back pocket when out & about. Work carry is in a side pocket on carpenter jeans. Traditionals go in any pocket.
