Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

I'm a bit lost when it comes to GEC and their avalibility?

The 83s were released in August 2015. Long gone, except for secondary market.

If they do ever go for another run, I'd suggest leaving out the lanyard hole it seems a bit redundant on a small knife and spoils the scales.

GEC made one in a black/white Camel Bone that was a real eye popper, been after one for ages....

I'd suggest leaving the hole.
Just adds to the carry and adornment options.

I love looking at these 83s. For whatever reason, the stag on the 83 always looks better to me than on most GEC patterns. Someday I’ll find one!

I had a model 83 until it developed up and down blade play. I used a hangman's knot through the lanyard tube to give me more to hold onto. I say keep it.

Here's a quick work picture, since I happen to be carrying my 83 today. As you can see, I have a fat little lanyard on there that I do like having for pocket/slip removal and added grip.

Black Camel Bone

As already stated, a small fob on the ebony does make retrieval from the pocket a little easier and gives a more secure grip while operating the lock.

The camel bone is stunning. The more I look at the non-stag covers the more I like them. I think I need to open up my search to all the #83s. I was looking @waverave’s database and the production totals were so small. It will take me a while to hunt one down.

Thank you both! I do love the 83s, especially in camel bone. I agree that the stag has looked special on the ones I've seen, wonder if it's because the 83 is a barehead model? I'm thinkin' if GEC were to offer another run they'd be snatched up quick. I'd certainly be in for at least one in stag. Keeping fingers crossed.

I used to have this 83 but sold it recently to fund old schrades. I really liked the autumn leaf bone and that's why I kept it as long as I did. It's some of gec's best jigging and coloring that I would like to see more of, on a big 42 or some stockmans.
