Nice to see the thread out and about again.

I've been entirely pleased with my Northfield Drop-point, I find the size just right and the stag, well...it's coming along nicely too Shown here with Micarta Bark River. These are an excellent lockback and I must say I would like to get hold of via trade, a Tidioute Purple Sage as companion. Very pretty bone that and sleek Tidioute understatedness looks a treat!

I like especially the Stag with blade clip.
He is walking now in my pocket.

The 83 has become my most carried 9 to 5 since August. Such a great size. It gets lost in the pocket but very respectable in use.

I think this will be a very popular pattern, and I'll be slippin' one into my pocket for a test ride. It will take up little pocket room and pack quite a bit of blade into a small frame. Plus, they're easy to open (for arthritic hands). Any play in the lockup has never been an issue with me; just something I never really notice in use. 72's and 42's I've handled with tight locks were difficult to un-lock.

I agree.I think " no play in the lock-up " is more than a tad unrealistic for traditional knives made with late 19th century machines. Unless it is excessive it is inconsequential to everyday use.

Nice 83
This pattern is my favorite GEC that I have.
It's the knife that swayed me from tactical to traditional.
The size is just about perfect, as is the walk and talk.
Be great to see another run of them
I blued the blade.
Mine's in natural stag.

Yes, I have the 27.
Neat that yours is the 28 but different blade shape.
I will never sell my 83. It's one of my best users. GEC really got it right on this pattern.

I had a Purple Sage. It was absolutely gorgeous, but the lock was a bear to disengage. I ended up selling it and bought this one in Ebony which has a much easier lock.
