Yep, sent a knife back to zt on the 16th, supposed to be there on 18th... nobody knows where it is..was told today to wait until next week and hopefully it would make it.

All the shippers got hit hard by the recent cold snap that hit a lot of the country. A lot of things got shut down. And it takes time to clear the backlog once the system is up and running.

General Forum is for threads about knives. "Gritching about shipping" threads, go in the GBU forum. Just sayin'

How's this for an answer:

I don't know!
Honestly, I don't know if I'm waiting for anything or not!
I ordered a center finding jig from Amazon & stuck a stainless Mora (orange handle) on the order just to get fee shipping.
I was told the Mora wasn't in stock so I picked out a different handle color. (blue)

I got an email a couple of days after the order saying shipment of my knife was delayed until the end of March - then - a couple days later I got my order in & the blue handled Mora was with the jig.
I'm not sure if I have a knife coming or not!

I suppose I could check, but, that would ruin the surprise ;) .

Last two USPS orders (both within the last two months)
Both priority mail
One took almost a month and was actually declared lost by the sender and replaced before it finally surfaced a couple weeks later.
The other one seemed to be moving along fine and then the dreaded "your item will be arriving late" appeared on tracking, followed by no changes to status for a week before finally being delivered.
At that point I decided to pay extra for UPS two day air on all new orders going forward and I haven't had a problem since.

My Alpha Order is over 10 days now. Tracking tells me nothing.. I reordered from them yesterday as I need the g10 ...
I guess it is stuck in a trailer in Texas???

It’s easy to open an info request on usps.com when your package stops being scanned. Every time I have done this (3) it has been scanned within 12 hours and delivered soon after. I have only used this on priority mail that wasn’t scanned for a week. James

This is correct. Last week was brutal in many parts of the country.
However, that probably doesn't explain all the issues some have experienced.

11 days for coast to coast my last knife shipped. Now been waiting since Feb.18th for one from Vermont , maybe it will be here my March 3rd.

What is the GBU forum? I can't find it but sorry for asking a question about was anyone else experiencing delays on knives they ordered..

This is the annoying thing about any boards, you get so many subforums you can't find anything at all.

Thanks man, maybe mine will show up today or tomorrow. Will be 11 days today from CA to Virginia.

Cali to Or, supposed to be here the 19th, tracking stopped on the 22nd, nothing since. Same situation w/a package from Ill., supposed to arrive 19th, 22nd it went dead.

They'll get here eventually. It was sketchy a few months back then things were going great until a couple weeks ago. This is the latest I've seen things arrive, at least prior to this tracking would updated, now it's a guessing game.

read a big article the other day with the new post master general in front of congress . He states things are slow and are going to continue to be slow . He is cutting back on air travel and cutting overtime and raising cost , so be prepared to pay more for less .

Yes have had delays but nothing like is mentioned here.
Went to the post office and bought stamps the other day for the first time in a long time. I had sticker shock, I no idea they were 55 cents! For context, as a kid, candy bars were a nickel, or a dime for the bigun and stamps were 8 or 10 cents or something. So in context USPS inflation have not kept pace with candy bars. I digress from the gritching.

It’s hit or miss here. I’ve had great service on some items and had others “sit” in on place for 3 weeks. Was just speaking to an employee at my local post office and she said staffing levels are so bad that she works in a post office a few miles away from 5 AM - 9 AM then comes to my local post office to open at 9. If she gets delayed, my local post office doesn’t open on time and there is the downstream impact.

I spoke to a retailer today, and they said USPS has been moving packages without scanning them as they go through the backlog caused by the storm. My own experience bears this out, as yesterday and today I had two packages go from "Acceptance pending" to "Delivered" with no updates in between.

Thanks for that update. Makes me feel better. Just don't like having a knife setting in the mail. But what can we do.

Big thread already about this on going slow down here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/postal-packages.1762660/

This has been an issue since October in my experience. Most of my packages have been late since then. A good many of them by 10 days or more. One first class package took 30 days.

Currently I have a 2-3 day priority package out of Portland, OR that is going to be at least 9 days if it magically gets here Monday. Current status is "Arriving Late".
