Anyone ever found their Grail knife?

I don't think I'll ever stop buying knives, I like them too much. I do have a grail knife though.

Wow, that's a real beaut!

The perfect traditional slipjoint is the Case Bose tribal spear. I have one and have not seen the need for another slipjoint in three years...but I'm still lookin :)

I agree. I think a Bose zulu spear is about the perfect knife. That pattern is going to be the next slipjoint I finish. I got to work on it a bit tonight, and the more I look at it, the more in love I fall with it. Although, if Mr. Vanguard doesn't stop posting pictures of that Marbles EO I'm going to be tempted to change my mind.

Maybe not my 'Grail' knife per se, but my Northfields #73L is all the knife I need or want. That being said I'm not a knife collector just a user of this one knife on an everyday basis.

I did, but had to return it to the old knight guarding the tomb. He waved sadly at me as I left, barely clearing the entryway, before the whole thing came down, sealing it away, lost to history and the sands.

Also, I couldn't afford it.

:D

My Marble's EO is the closest to perfection I will ever get.

Always a pleasure to see that knife, particularly when you clearly like it so much my friend :)

I'm quite contemp with my Opinel #9 and didnt know what to do without it when I had it mailed back to from out of state after loosing it.

Yet I'll still be making up reasons to buy this knife or that knife for needs that I don't have and you know what?

I like it that way :D lol.

Everyone here buys knives in multiples because we have a problem that we live to share lol, whereas most guys you meet on the street have a chinese mystery steel knife they bought at the local department store that they will keep (perfectly satisfied) forever without sharpening it for lack of knowing how until they loose it.. And so the cycle goes.

Off to buy another knife ;)

Either or both, a true handmade sardinian pattada or/and a good quality spanish navaja would be my grails.

There are so many that I really, really like and have been fortunate to buy, and others I have not (like the earlier Case/Bose). So I'm still looking, though for small knives it's a toss up between my Case stag damascus Peanut and AG Russell Pinched Peanut. I probably should have gotten the latter in mammoth ivory, then I could say for certain :D

I've known what my grail knife is for awhile. I just can't afford it yet.

Never really have searched for that grail knife. Maybe it would be a custom slipjoint of some kind. Maybe one day ill start that quest :). For now ill enjoy just looking and enjoying what I have :D

I didn't search for my grail, I just found it.

I bought a few Case Bose and liked them. The Zulu or Tribal spear looked good. It was a Bose design, not a copy or based upon an older design. That appealed to me as well as the bolster and ebony. I bought it and fell in love.

I've bought a few slip joints since then, (got to feed the addiction), but they were used; I fixed them up and gave em away.

I don't want to find my Grail knife, as it would take away the joy of the chase. I do have a nice Case Sambar Sway-back that comes close.

Im still waiting for it... I want a GEC #15 barehead, single blade spearpoint in cashmere bone. But I also love the #85 EO in buffalo horn....

Old Timer 8OT, match striker pull...steel gets incredibly sharp.

Close behind--very close--Buck 307.
