Anyone ever found their Grail knife?

I finally got one after close to twenty years of chasing. That was before the internet I might add. it was the Gerber Sportsman 2 in "V" steel ( Vascowear). I was selling knives on the gun show circuit for a while and I just happened to mention it to a woman dealer I'd gotten to know. She was a widow and her late husband had one in his collection. She offered to bring it to the next gun show in 4 months. It was in new condition with some tarnish. 50 degrees inclusive geometry and it still could dry shave

A few years go, I can't remember how many, someone posted a picture of a Cammilus made Cold Steel Ozark Hunter. I wanted one immediately. They were however hard to find by that time as not many were made and I rarely found one for sale. When I did, they were selling for a lot more than my salary could afford and so I sort of gave up on ever getting one.
I never forgot the Ozark Hunter tho. How could I really? I'm from the Ozarks, born and bred, and fancy myself an old time woodsrunner, at least in spirit. And that Carbon V was good stuff, plus I have always liked lockbacks.
The Ozark Hunter became my Grail knife. Imagine my surprise when earlier this year someone who was a stranger to me contacted me and offered to sell me a new in box Ozark Hunter. And at a fair price too. Unfortunately due to some extra expenses, emergency surgery, truck repairs and a couple others, I had no extra money to spend. As much as I wanted it, I knew it would be wrong to buy anything unnecessary at that time.
I kindly thanked the man for his offer, after telling him a little of my money woes, an said that it just wasn't ment to be. A week or so later the man contacts me again, asking for my address, as he wants to make a gift of the Ozark Hunter to me.
I was shocked, still sort of am. Humbled and a little curious as to what brought such a generous act to me. The knife has taken on a sort of Holy status around here. I always thought I woud use it if I ever found one but so far I have only taken it out of the box evey couple of weeks to hold before wiping it down and putting it back in the box and safely away. This is the first knife I have ever treated this way.
So no, I never found mine, but it was given to me and I am very aware of how kind and generous an act that was. Thanks to all the kind and generous souls in the word.

That is an awesome story. I hope if I find my true holy grail knife, it will have that much meaning to me also.

Thought I had my Grail with the one on the left... until I got the one on the right.

Thanks, and I hope so to. As much as I wanted the knife, and as pleased as I was with it when I finally held one in my hand, to me the greatest thing about it was the way it came to be mine.

Grail....

Grail for me is definitely overstating it for me. I know nice things when I see the and I know my knives aren't "nice".

But, they suit me. And they suit me better than other nicer knives I own.
