Anyone have a "boring" but amazing knife?

Plain old FRN Spyderco Delica 4 saber grind. It's my go-to work knife when I know I'm going to get dirty. It's been dropped, stepped on, drenched in sweat/chemicals/water, kicked across the driveway, chipped--cleans up and sharpens easily and is ready for the next level of abuse. Thin, light, easy to operate, and tougher than one might think.

What steel did they use on the blade there? Thanks. :)

This one is VG-10. Good all-rounder steel with excellent corrosion resistance, IMO.

I'm due for a Delica 4. I already have a Spyderco in VG-10 and a Spyderco in K390, so I thought I would try s30v. Don't know one from the other, but gettin' educated costs money, I guess. :)

I've been on a tear lately. My least expensive and least dramatic purchase has fast become a favorite.

I have a cheap yellow handle Case Sodbuster- my first quality knife I bought from a farm store in town. I paid more than they sell for online, but I wanted it, as I had seen my dad use (and destroy) his at work for years. I carried for a long time as a user, then I got some “nicer, more interesting knives” that put the sodbuster firmly in the “beat it to hell” pile.
After a few years I rediscovered it in my box, started carrying it in construction to use for demo, and found out that you can’t kill the dang thing! I was so impressed that I ground the blade into a spear point and keep it in my camping bag as an emergency tool. I’ve used it underwater cutting anchor lines, in the dirt, wet concrete, construction glue…everything! And nothing has affected it in the slightest. It’s not by any means a fun, exciting knife in its current state, but it’s probably the most used knife I have- for jobs that I always end up surprised that it handled!

My OKC Rat 2 is comfortable in my paws, and cuts way better than it should.
But it's as boring a knife; as I've ever had the pleasure of owning...

I really never found my Sebenza 21 boring, more like perfectly simple, but also a lovely little machine, opening it and using it was a pleasant experience.

I find all black FRN and G10 Spydercos super boring to look at, the main reason I don't buy any standard models.
Yet they are great knives.

That looks like an American Bladeworks. They are around 180. I got one too and it’s a pretty nifty little knife. Very similar to the North River Skaha in terms of concept (affordable lightweight North American flippers).

Yep. ABW. Canvas micarta. S35VN steel. Fantastic blade deploy for a flipper.

Simple for sure, but boring in the sense that it is not a "fidgety wonder;" with essentially one method of deployment. I don't take issue with anything about the Sebenza or CRK's in general because for me they are boringly reliable.

the buck 110s boring ? lol.
i guess that would include the exceptionally boring classic mora's
and wooden opinels too.
millions sold and we're atill back for more.
how much more boring can that be?

classic grand/dad's are in a class of their own ;-)

My most boring knife would be my ESEE-3.

It's just a knife. Comfortable handle, full tang, good old 1095, excellent fit and finish and good sheath. Excellent blade geometry, cuts very good, feels good in the hand and is easy to get sharp.

I used it for everything from food and cooking to wood working, it just works. It's one of my favourite knives. I love it.

But it's just so... boring. That's my only knife that got no "wow" from anyone. It's simply a knife, not tactical, classic handle, classic blade, normal size, normal steel, just very plain.
