So two weeks ago I met a guy named Roger D. Trevino, who offered me a benchmade 42 and 40tr for 500. He had good reviews I asked around. I sent him 515 bucks via paypal as goods so the money would be safe, right?
WELL NO!! I got scammed bad because he sent me the paypal address of some other guy who he was talking to. SO I sent the payment to another innocent guy who then thought roger sent him a payment, but in reality it was my hard earned money! I talked to the guy and he already sent roger ( the scammer) his goods, some stupid video game accounts so they were instantly gone... And know I don't want to open a paypal dispute because This other guy is innocent like me and I don't want to take his money! I emailed paypal a week ago about this, and still no response. Im devastated because I originally was going to buy them and resell them for a higher profit and buy my younger daughter her first bed!!! I can't afford this loss and am really lost stressed. He is still trying to scam people, this is his email... he responds to everyone but me.. slayolay@hotmail.com . Can you guys spam him and tell him to give me my payment of 515 bucks back!!! or any advice would be greatly appreciated, I just need help from my bf community.

scammed again already? was this not on bladeforums? what was his username?

Get your paypal back. If you used the goods tab he should have known you weren't him from your address

There shouldn't be a problem getting your money back if you and the other guy file disputes and explain to PP what happened. Maybe you should relax on the exchange a bit.

are you saying he scammed something off of the other guy that didn't require shipping? like a battlenet account or something?

or that he used some kind of platform gaming email to hide his identity?

We don't advocate soliciting members to Spam another persons email account, scammer or not.

You failed to do due diligence on your part to prevent being scammed despite being warned against doing business with the person by someone who had dealings with him before.

You now have several things you can do.

1) Initiate a dispute against the person you sent the money to in order to get your money back.
2) Turn him (Trevino) into paypal and your bank for wire fraud.
3) File a civil court claim for wire fraud against him.
4) Possibly turn him into the postal inspectors for mail fraud, since that would likely be the way you recieved the product.
5) Fail to act and chalk it up as lesson learned.

With that said, this thread will now be merged with your other thread on the same subject.

I know hes not the other guy because we both sent email proof of us talking to roger,

He is the one you sent the money to, therefore the one you get the money back from.
Paypal isnt going to refund you from someone whom you didnt send money to.

Chances are you won't get very far with options #2 thru 4, as you never sent trevino the money.
It never hurts to try, though.

Go open a dispute with whoever you sent the money to, right now. He is the only one you can get the funds from, as mentioned. Then if possible, you can help that guy if he wants to pursue a case against this Roger fellow. That is the only way you'll get your money back. You either get it back from the fellow you sent it to, or you eat the loss.

Are you absolutely sure this other guy isn't Roger's friend and they're running some sort of shell game on you?

Anyway, don't be stupid, go get your money back.

When you're dealing with a scammer, assume all other parties are involved in the grift. You don't owe any other victims, actual or perceived, a thing. Get your money back.

i feel bad but at the same time im at a loss for words why you didnt learn the first time you got scammed? you want some advice? here ya go: if you find a deal to good to be true… guess what… ITS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE. lack of diligence and research played a huge part in this.

I agree you did not do your homework. You tried to make a quick buck and you didnt think things through. Throwing away that kind of money in these tight times is such a waste. I would also believe that "this other guy" was most likey in on it. You should post up to let us know what is going on.. Maybe the power of the forum can somehow get your money back. I dont know ?? But dont buy any more knives unless you can hold them in your hand !

I'm pretty sure I just got scammed by this guy too.. He basically responded to my "WTB" thread and posed as another BF member.. (One with good feedback) I sent him the money (+4%) and will probably recieve nothing.

I called Paypal, and all I can do is pretty much wait 7-10 days and start a claim when I don't recieve it...
Totally sucks.. all I wanted is a damn cqc7.. hahha.. now i'm out 130bucks.. hopefully I get it all back..

This asshole just posed as me selling the CQC7 to 13aphomet......BAN him. This behavior is unacceptable on the forum!!!

Dont ban me!!.. haha.. Yah, I don't think anyone knows his BF account name though, He just emailed me responding to my WTB thread over at Jerzeedevil.. His pictures were PaZach's album on images shack.. so I was like "Ohh, you're Pazach?".. and he was like "Yup, what's up?".. Grrr..

Someone should get this guys address.. I'm up for a road trip..
