Anybody had a fella from S.A. offering them really nice Busses in exchange for much lower priced models, yet won't ship first even though he has no feedback on any forum anywhere? I recently did and just talked to someone else with somewhat similar story. Just curios, wonder if I missed a great trade or if I only missed being scammed. I just can't bring myself to ship willy nilly to someone in Saudi that just joined the forum. Can't take a drive to visit somebody if all goes wrong, ya know?
 
I just struck a deal with someone from Riyhad. The name and address were different that the tonyrobbles fellow. Email address was kingcollector99@gmail.

Hopefully it will go smooth. I have had good fortune so far with international deals. Hopefully, my trust will not have been missplaced here.
 
He has used numerous names, addresses, and email addresses.

Of course I wouldn't say everyone in Saudi Arabia who wants to make a deal is him, but I would say if anyone you don't know who is in Saudi Arabia wants to make a deal with you, let him ship first.
 
He is supposed to have shipped first. Both knives were under a hundred in value. I will let folks know one way or the other. *sigh* Where is the smilie for crossing fingers, lol.

I hate to say it, but that is the same name of the guy who propositioned me and even after I offered him 5 different places to check feedback on me, he still wouldn't ship first, and he had no reputation to go on.

As I said, same name....here is what he said he is trading his Custom Shop Busse SHBM (in brand new condition) with serrations top and bottom for: "I was interested, but the Battle Mistress went out today in trade for a Classic Chris Sebenza and Szabofly combined."

I never got a name or a user ID, just an offer for a very nice Busse in exchange for a more readily available Busse...he said he had 2 of 1 style....
I'm just as glad I didn't deal with him, I hope you get a nice custom Busse for your blades if that (above) is your deal.....

Luckily, mine is much simpler. A benchmade 910 for a bUck strider.

My scammer senses are tingling... A Custom Shop SHBM for a Reg.? classic Sebenza and a Szabofly? I don't know anything about the Szabofly, but the SHBM might be on or above a grand... If he doesn't ship first, I wouldn't attempt the trade either.

Sounds like the same guy to me. I'll be really interested to see how this plays out. I just got an email one day, he didn't contact me on the forum and never gave his user ID even after I asked. As previously suggested though, he may be trying to establish a reputation with some cheaper knives (no offense to your choice of knives!). I knew the offer he was making me was WAY lopsided and just too good to be true. I REALLY wanted the blade he sent me a pic of, but deep down just never felt that I would ever actually touch it. When I told him that feedback was everything in this world when it comes to trading, or buying or whatever and he would have to ship first...maybe I put it in his head to try and build one. A reputation that is. He said he would sleep on the idea of sending his first and then 2 days later told me he had already traded it. Just as well for me I think at this point!
Good luck, I'll be watching to see what happens...and reconsidering the whole overseas shipping thing.

Well, the funny thing is that his initial offer to me was lopsided. I told him that I would not be comfortable because of unequal values and we agreed on something more even.
Orignal offer was an Emerson CQC15 for the 910.

No offense taken, BTW. I have a broad range of knives.

I did encourage him to post and particpate as a member. Perhaps he can explain things.
 
Just for fun I just wrote him and told him I had not traded or sold my Comp. Hellrazor yet and was curious if he had anything else he wanted to trade....as follows: (start at the bottom and read up..)

So apparently he has seen this forum and chooses not to respond, for the moment at least. I hope he will feel comfortable doing so, I hope he is an upstanding forum member. At least he took my advice to check the feedback forums. ;) I recommended to him to always check feedback before trading...but he said he didn't believe in the power of feedback:confused:

I have said my peace and will now gracefully back away and just watch (unless it gets really interesting)...I think i have had my original questions answered thanks to everyone here and the communications I have had with him/her/who/whatever

I had an offer from the exact same guy, I said you have absolutely NO feedback anywhere, I'll trade you anything if you ship the first time. I told him thats what everyone does when they are new to the forum, any forum, even if they live in the US or your same state for that matter. He wrote back and told me to F*** off and said thanks for the insult. so I supposedly insulted him by asking him to ship first when he lives around the world in a possible enemy country and I'd have no recourse if he beat me. Oh well, I guess I'm a Jerk. Lol
 
I got an offer from him too. I told him that he would have to ship first because he had no feedback and he told me that I insulted his intelligence and the deal was off.
 
This is strange. A guy on glocktalk.com just paid for a Michael Morris Necker via paypal that I had for sale. He paid quickly, and even offered to pay the extra shipping to Saudi. His name is Charlie Cheng.
