Anyone regularly carry folders on your belt?

Well it depends for me, if I'm doing an outdoor activity such as camping fishing hunting sporting use then yes you can belt carry it. But if I'm going to use it for everyday carry it must be concealed you cannot be able to show it. I guess every jurisdiction has different laws. But the norm in this territory is concealed carry mostly.

When the knife dictates, being a little too large for pocket carry, I'll make a vertical or horizontal sheath to carry it, here's a custom Buck 110 that I made a sheath for vertical carry. It wraps around the knife and is sewn along one side and the bottom which helps to keep it smaller in size overall.

Very nice indeed

I've been playing around with belt carry for large CRKs lately. It's really nice to not have the knife in my pocket (which makes more room for wallets and car keys). But, I have to say that I think pocket clip carry is much more convenient if you need the knife often.

But, I've been carrying with a pocket clip for decades. Reaching for the pocket instead of a belt sheath is probably due to habit.

My friend, you are the past master of that type of sheath!

I carry a Buck 110 on my belt everyday in the sheath. I also carry a pocket knife with a clip in my jeans pocket everyday too.

I have zero interest using a pocket clip knife clipped on a belt. I've seen some kids at work sites in skinny jeans do it, and typically it eventually gets caught on something and snapped off or bent. just get some jeans that aren't skinny types and have no pocket room and put it in your pocket.

I've taken to carrying in a clipped pocket sheath over the last couple of years. 110 and 112, multi tool and SAK, Laguiole and Opinel all go into one of two sheaths made by Jessi Chapin of Cedar Grove Leather. When belt carrying, I like Buck's nylon flap sheaths set horizontally. I can put some beastly large knives in them. For fixed blades, I love Horsewright Horsewright 's pocket sheath for my small Dawsons. It goes well in a back pocket and the top of half-chaps. Next sheath purchase will likely be something from Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley (if he'll have me 😸)!

Large inkosi clipped to the pocket is too big for my tastes. I need to try a belt sheath for it. Great idea.

Carry my Buck 110 on my belt in the sheath that came with it.

Finding a off-the-shelf wet-molded sheath for an Inkosi is a chore. Most craftsmen (that I have worked with) do not have an Inkosi. However, belt sheaths for Sebenza 31 tip-up carry aren't too hard to find.

It turns out that a Seb 31 tip-up sheath will fit a large Inkosi carried tip-down nicely, as long as you are willing to take off the clip. The Inkosi jimping is too tall and rough for tip-up in a Seb 31 sheath. It will fit, but it's hard to get in and out, and will most likely tear up your 31 sheath.

This is a standard 31 sheath with a large Inkosi in it. I started doing this because I couldn't find a leather worker with an Inkosi. Surprisingly, I really like carrying the Inkosi tip-down. It will fit in with the blade to the front or back.

Same goes for horizontal Seb 31 sheaths:

Anyway, these are just a few things for you to noodle. Might get you up and running quickly.

My EDC is a Carl Scleiper Stag Handled Sod Buster, and I carry it daily in a very nice Vertical Belt Sheath that Gary W. Graley made for me. John
PS: To see a photo of my sheath go to the "Sheaths & Such " Forum, Page 137. Gary posted some good photos of it there.
