Link to post of John’s sheathMy EDC is a Carl Scleiper Stag Handled Sod Buster, and I carry it daily in a very nice Vertical Belt Sheath that Gary W. Graley made for me. John
PS: To see a photo of my sheath go to the "Sheaths & Such " Forum, Page 137. Gary posted some good photos of it there.
I don't get little knives on belt sheaths. Too much bother.
Indeed, "to each their own" or horses for courses. I don't carry a big loadout but I do have a pocket pistol (LCP or P365 in Mika pocket holsters), SAK 74mm Executive, lip balm, pocket clip knife (3" avg. blade), very small wallet, small key ring, and phone but it doesn't ride in my pants pockets often. Having carried belt gear for some years earlier in life, I prefer not to except when necessary (larger firearm, larger knife). BTW, the firearm rides in a pocket alone with no other items sharing it.I think it depends on what you use your pockets for and how you like stuff in them. The very fact that the knife is small is what inspired me to belt carry if possible.
I can clip 13" folding Cold Steel knife into my front pocket and be none the wiser that it is there. I can carry a Case Peanut at the bottom of my pocket sideways and spend the entire day adjusting and fighting and feeling it cause my pants to bunch.
For me, if the knife inherently doesn't come with a clip, then it either goes on my belt, in my fifth pocket of my jeans (risky), or in a inside the pocket leather clip that keeps it riding high and vertical.
Then again, until I made my old man a sheath for his 110, it would ride sideways at the bottom of his front left pocket until sweat and dirt and time wore an outline around it like a dip can.

I'd have to reach past the other knife clipped into my pocket to get the slipjoint out if it were down in there. I could carry the slipjoint in the 5th pocket, but this is more comfortable and easy to access when I'm sitting down with it in a belt sheath.I don't get little knives on belt sheaths. Peanut is for watch pocket, same as a 55.I think it depends on what you use your pockets for and how you like stuff in them. The very fact that the knife is small is what inspired me to belt carry if possible.

Yes, it was hypothetical as I was picking a large folder to clip to my pocket and naming a very tiny one that would bother me if at the bottom of my pocket sideways. My point was that any knife that is not up and down in my pocket bothers me. I don't have a peanut...not anymore. I carried it in my watch pocket and lost itPeanut is for watch pocket, same as a 55.
I won't buy pants that lack a watch pocket. Like most cargo pants for instance. Which I don't like anyway. I did find a belt sheath in knife drawer that will work with the Inkosi though, so I got that going for me.Yes, it was hypothetical as I was picking a large folder to clip to my pocket and naming a very tiny one that would bother me if at the bottom of my pocket sideways. My point was that any knife that is not up and down in my pocket bothers me. I don't have a peanut...not anymore. I carried it in my watch pocket and lost itI was at an event at a theater wearing some pants that weren't so formal that they were slacks but were cut in a way that the watch pocket was shallower than what I have on my jeans. I didn't want to carry a knife clipped to my pocket, so I went with the peanut. My guess is that it wormed its way out of my pocket and fell under the seat some time during the play. Lesson learned
I have grown fond of making those folded over inside the pocket sheaths that hold the knife out of sight and upright as if it were clipped to the pocket but totally hidden. You see them made for 110s often. I have one that I carry my 110 in when I feel like packing it around. It's custom made to fit my back pocket exactly and allows for my wallet to ride right next to it.
That’s my sentiment exactly; easier for me to extract a knife from a sheath than from a pocket. Try pulling out a pocket knife when seated. UgghThe Case/Bose Premium Stockman is a bit bigger than I like in my pocket, so I carry it in a belt pouch. I find it's no more of a bother to get it out of the pouch than it is to dig out of my pocket. Maybe even less at times.View attachment 2407102
I like that Voyager kydex sheathDon't have any pretty picks but these are my two edc's for many years now. View attachment 2421893View attachment 2421898This is a Cold Steel Voyager 5.5" blade Plain Edge. It rides vertical in a kydex sheath I made that rides above the belt line and lays flat against the body. This is the one I use all the time. This is an 11" Italian Stalettio that I carry for back up.View attachment 2421899View attachment 2421901 I had the original sheath modified so that I can carry it horizontal on the belt line. I wear my shirts out almost always and you can't tell I'm carrying either one, and they're so comfortable I hardly know they're there. Couldn't possibly carry either one in a pocket.
Low profile belt carry seems contradictory and usually is with a traditional leather sheath but someone in this thread suggested a Rainbow of California knife sheath. I just received one and it really fits the bill. Very flat and thin, it disappears under a t-shirt. Carried a large Sebenza tonight with it and couldn’t feel or see the knife with a shirt pulled over it. Cheap too, about $15 and well made. Vertical or horizontal carry.I hate things sideways in my front pockets, so my carry was often either back pocket, watch pocket, or belt sheath.
When I was a working man, I did do a lot of belt sheath carry. It was a good way to carry a decent sized knife conveniently at work and I did a lot of my running before and after work. Was a little more brash even on weekends and so that carry did carry over.
Now, I'm 68 and retired. I gravitate much more to the "gray man" way of thinking. You'll find that you become more of a target as you become a senior citizen and blending in is more appealing. Walk softly and carry a big stick. I don't normally belt carry when I'm out and about anymore. I like a small watch pocket slipjoint or maybe a small to medium, unobtrusive, pocket clipped knife.
When I'm working around the house or yard, however, the belt pouches come back out. Generally with a Svord Mini-Peasant or an Opinel.
