Anyone venture out with only a single bladed slipjoint?

I survived the whole day today with my trusty GEC model 73. Spent the day at the Shooting Club.

I carried my Northfield #73 in Yellow Rose Bone today.

I have a #15 Huckleberry Boy''s knife with a clip blade that I carry sometimes too.

I've done the last 6-7 years with the same single blade slipjoint. Envelopes, string, deer, squirrels, fish, - you get the idea.
Can't say theres anything I ever needed a knife for that it did'nt do exactly what I wanted. Knifenut? maybe not, I just make them.
Ken.

With traditionals, I like the added security of a backup blade. So, larger two bladed trappers are my preference even if they are a bit heavier in the pocket. But, as mentioned before, I always have a SAK in my pocket with a single cutting blade and other tools that get used.

Great replies, all. Since starting this thread, I've been carrying a single blade sheepsfoot TC barlow. So far there has not been anything it couldn't handle. It opens mail. It slays clamshells. It breaks down boxes. It slices limes.
But--
There is a Vic Rally on my keychain.
So I guess I'm cheating.

I usually prefer a multi-bladed knife, but this Buck 501 in S30V does just fine.

I find a single blade as my EDC more and more, especially if it has a straight edge blade.

Big fan single blades, most of my knives are single or max two blades, have not found the need for more except for collectability, I do really stockmans and congress patterns

A Charlow is a TC Barlow. It's "Charlie's Barlow" shortened to Charlow.
I'm pretty sure he knew what it meant...

For me, I often carry a single blade. I like a lot of multiple bladed knives, but often don't like the ergonomics.

If the new GEC 83 does not turn out as well as I hope I am going to follow you and order me up a 501 with a S30v blade! I love that 501 of yours!

Most of my folders, up until a few weeks ago were single bladed (except for an Alox Cadet I will sometimes slip into a suit jacket pocket)

I have been extremely interested in Large Stockmans though lately, so my preferences are changing somewhat.

I survived many years carrying one bladed knives exclusively, and no multitools either. Of course, I have to admit I have ruined some blades by not having options. It is what it is I suppose. :D

Even small singles such as the GEC 25 shouln't be overlooked, small puukkot too:D

Will,
Your Otha is amazing! !! Can you please post one picturein the opened position?

When i go camping i carry a lot of knives....every time they stay in the backpack and i use only my backpocket pattern.
If the knife is keen and sharp, with a carbon steel heat treated as it's due, there is pretty much anything you can't ask it to do as a knife.

Sorry for the lapse stezann and thanks for your comments. I'm really pleased with the Ohta, my pictures do not capture it but here's an attempt from last year.
