Anyone Want to Talk Traditional Fixed Blades?

Ok, great. A couple more. Both persians, one in mastodon ivory and one in jade. The jade piece was a long, long time in the making. Lynton mc Kenzie did the engraving just before his death. I just finished the knife early this year.
Please excuse the text on the photos, they are pages out of my book. I don't want to fool with Francescos photography.
I am planning on a version of this in a slipjoint.

Wolfgang

I checked out your gallery.. amazing! Curious, is there an inscription on the jade knife? - what does it say?

Yes, there is an inscription somewhere on the knife. It is in persian. Lynton sent me a translation, but I don't remember. It was biblical however.
What you see at the bottom of the handle is just my name, also engraved by Lynton.

A copy of the Bradford San Francisco dagger. Sterling silver sheath, guard and handle wrap. 18K gold pins and shield, mammoth tusk grip panels.

A couple more.
First a "sort of" Sheffield bowie. Made for a friend.
I was lucky enough to trace the profile from an original in the Lobred collection. The detailing however is of my own design. The other conforms to period dimensions, but again of my own design. I am sure these are not to everyones liking, but I think they still display period influence.

I am loving the Bowie Wolfe . I am not so sure about the ring's on the dagger though either way that's definitely beautiful craftsmanship:thumbup:

This is really a treat, Wolfe! The engraving on the Bradford dagger sheath is marvelous as is the knife:thumbup::thumbup:

Beautiful knives, Wolfgang, I have followed your work for some time. That jade dagger is just exquisite, thanks for sharing.

Great knife by Karl, LHpanther, thanks for sharing.

Karl Andersen J.S. take down 5 bar Turkish twist fighter/bowie, 14 in. overall, 9 in. blade, hot blued blade and guard, contoured walnut handle, ivory finale. The sheath was made how I wanted by the talented, David Seward.

Kris,

I remember seeing you post that you had an Andersen knife in the works....and what a great piece it is! David did a fantastic job on the sheath!

What a great looking knife, Kris! That damascus is superb!

Here is link to Caleb's photos of my knife from Karl, for those of you with interest: HERE

If you ask me, this one should be in the running for 'Best Bowie of the Year' in the custom section. Maybe the best steel I've ever seen from Karl. You've got a great piece Kris!
